8 Reasons Why Jeans Are Truly The Worst

The pockets are never big enough. The pockets are never big enough. THE POCKETS ARE NEVER BIG ENOUGH.

If we're being honest, most of us can agree that jeans are terrible. Sure, jeans go with almost anything and everything. There are downsides to them though. People need to know that jeans aren't the best choice for your legs. Every time you wear them your legs go to pants jail. That's no fun. So, I'm here to explain why wearing jeans when you can wear sweats or leggings needs to be discussed.

1. Finding jeans that fit you is near impossible

First of all, who decided that the leg size of someone is related to their hip or waist size? Short people are out there struggling to not trip on their pants while tall people want pants, not capris. Sure, you can hem them, but that is another load of money to spend.

2. Jeans are restricting

Have you ever tried to run the mile in a pair of jeans? It isn't fun. Jeans don't allow you to move as much as you can in sweatpants, leggings, or athletic shorts.

3. Jeans are either cheap and will soon rip or destroy your bank account

When you do buy jeans, you want to buy a pair that will last a while. Those jeans most likely cost $30 or more. You can go to Target and get sweatpants for $20. As a broke college kid, I'm going for the sweatpants.

4. Putting them on and taking them off is a battle

Even when jeans semi-fit you still find yourself doing the "pants dance". Jeans are not the kind of pants that you "just slip" on. You think you're going to get ready in 5 minutes when you have the battle of jeans to deal with.

5. When you start to sweat, it stays there. It has nowhere to go

It's wonderful to have your legs drowning in sweat because the sweat is being absorbed by the fabric of the devil.

6. "They're so comfortable." LOL

The moment you get home you rip your jeans off. They are not comfortable whatsoever. After being in them for the entire day, all you want to do is get into your sweats and watch Netflix.

7. THE POCKETS ARE NEVER BIG ENOUGH

Yes, I put that in all caps because it is the most infuriating thing. Where do you put your phone? What if you don't have a purse with you? What if you don't like purses? You can barely fit clothes pin into these so-called pockets.

8. You almost always have to get a new pair every year.

Ok, on occasion shopping can be fun. Jean shopping is the worst. Shopping for a new pair every year is like taking the SATs or ACT every year. You want to cry.

Jeans are pants of the devil. You get your daily exercise in trying to put them on. You 100% wish you didn't wear them the moment you leave your home. Leggings, sweatpants, or shorts are much better. Or you can go with a solid choice of nothing on your legs by wearing a dress. Choose your leg clothing wisely.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
