8 Reasons Humans Should Be More Like Dogs

I've already named all my future dogs. So I have a total of 13 names.

First off, we don't deserve dogs. I've come to the conclusion that if humans were more like dogs the world would be way better off. And yes, before you ask, if you aren't a dog person, we can't be friends because are you a thief of joy? Enjoy these eight very specific reasons on why we should be more like dogs:

"The more people I meet, the more I like my dog."

1. Kisses and cuddles.

This world would be a whole lot better if everybody could just agree that there's a need for kisses and cuddles at least once a day. At minimum.

2. If they could talk they'd ask you about your day.

Pay attention to the friends who don't ask you how you're doing. Every time I walk in the door my dogs see me like I just conquered something bigger than waking up this morning and getting Panda Express takeout.

3. They don't leave you when they're bored.

You don't have to worry about impressing your dogs because you just sitting next to them is enough. No expectations and disappointments. What a beautiful concept.

4. They will always eat a treat.

There no such thing as "no thank you, I'm on a diet" to dogs when you offer them food and that is truly inspiring. Bless.

5. Cute as hell no matter what they look like.

Show me the "ugliest" dog you've ever seen and I'll tell you right now that everybody and their mother will find him cute. You better believe that what that dog looks like doesn't matter because he's still cute as hell. Wouldn't we all be so much better off if we looked at everyone that way?

6. Down for whatever.

Imagine a life if every exciting thing we were asked to do we just said yes. Road trip? Down. Lake? Yep. Hike? Ready when you are. Dogs don't care about how tired they are or how hot it is outside, they're always down for an adventure the second you open up your car door.

7. No matter who you are, they'll love you forever.

Don't you wish the world accepted everyone as they are like dogs do? It doesn't matter what you look like, who you love, how much money you have or what your status is because in your dog's eyes, you are you and that alone is good enough.

8. You are always important.

A dog is a man's best friend. He's the only living creature on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. Isn't that a wonderful thing.

"The average dog is a nicer person than the average person."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
