9 Reasons College Students Are Just Like Babies

We all rely on Mom and Dad.

Do you ever get annoyed at your parents because you feel like they are treating you like a child? If you are between the ages of 17 and 22, they might just have a viable excuse for treating you this way. You might be surprised with how similar college students and babies behaviors are. Check out just how much we have in common below.

1. They're flirts

Babies always want attention and they are determined to get it no matter the challenge. Just like babies are determined to score as many "awwws" and kisses that they can from family and friends college students like the attention, too. Real talk -- college girls obviously don't wear those heels on the weekends because they're comfy.

2. They're "spacey"

OK, maybe this is not because the baby challenged his friend in the Beer Olympics, but sometimes they just don't know what the heck is going on or where they are; however, both are probably sporting a face similar to this one.

3. They're scared of Mom

Whether college students will admit it or not, Mom is really scary. Nothing scares me more than when my mom is mad or I have five missed calls from her.

4. They need their nap

Both babies and college students are willing to cancel anything for their nap time. When it comes to nap time, there is no funny business.

5. They get upset

It's very easy to agitate both a baby and college student. With the stress of school work, sports and social life college students tend to be on edge. And with the stress of sleeping, being spoon-fed and crying all night babies have it tough, too -- especially when they're hungry.

6. And when they're hungry...

They will eat anything that looks even remotely edible.

7. They deny "adulting"

Babies aren't the only ones in denial of growing up. College students aren't too fond of the idea, either. Life would be so much simpler if we could just sleep all day. A real job? What? I can't nap anymore?

8. They like weekends best

Both college students and babies enjoy the weekends. For students, it's time for them to let loose and forget about the stress of school. For babies, it's their favorite because they get the most attention when Mom and Dad aren't at work and can show them off to their friends.

9. They need their parents

It's clear babies need to be reliant on their parents in order to survive and for college kids sometimes that statement is just as true. We've all called our parents while we were in college to ask them something like "how long does it take for lunch meat to go bad?" or to say "SOS I'm sick send soup and medicine stat." Let's be real, we both would be really scared and lost without Mom and Dad.

So next time you're wondering why your parents are treating you like a baby, think about how much you actually have in common. Most importantly, just respect the little guys and their crazy antics, but hey, being a baby kind of rocks, so no wonder we still act like one from time to time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
