All couples have problems. It’s just a fact. Humans aren’t perfect, so consequently, anything they are involved in isn’t perfect. There are couples, however, that seem to come very close. One such couple is Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s Fixer Upper. Of course, we don’t really have a sure idea of what they are like off-screen, but from the looks of their on-screen relationship, they make me long for a marriage like theirs.

1. They clearly have fun together

Their marriage is not lacking in excitement and they seem to always enjoy each other’s company, which is rare after four kids!

2. They always make time for their family

Speaking of their children, Chip and Joanna always make time for their family. Their kids are featured in nearly every episode, participating in buying furniture for houses or paying their mom a visit while she puts the finishing touches on the house. Family is obviously important to them, even in their busy schedule.

3. The way they look at each other

Now, I’m no romance expert, however, I do know that at the top of most relationship wish lists, people want someone to look at them like this. You can just see the love and admiration they have for each other. It’s enough to make your heart burst.

4. They playfully tease each other

Chip and Joanna are playful and tease each other, but never go far enough to hurt each other’s feelings. (At least on television.) You can tell, even in their clowning, that they care about each other’s feelings.

5. They support each other

OK, so I watch a lot of HGTV, so I see all kinds of couples and duos fixing up houses or finding houses, you know, the usual. ButChip and Joanna are the only two that I see that are always so sweet and supportive of one another. Whenever Joanna makes a decision, Chip respects her opinion and vice versa.

6. They are still clearly attracted to each other

They’ve been working together to remodel homes for fifteen years. And we all know that over 15 years, looks change. But these two don’t care. They are so deeply in love that no physical change could make them less attracted to each other. Chip still thinks Joanna looks like a model, and Joanna is always making comments about how cute Chip always looks. Isn’t this the dream?

7. They are so full of joy

Chip and Joanna radiate joy on their show, but especially when they are with one another. It’s rare that you find someone who manages to bring a smile to your face every time you see them. But love makes miracles happen.

8. They share a strong and passionate faith

Possibly the most important factor in their marriage is their dedication to the Lord. They have come forth several times about their faith and how their marriage is centered around Christian ideals. They are a great example to future generations about keeping your faith first in your marriage.
