Howdy, Ags! Between the mix of midterms, lab practicals, and football games, have you ever stopped dead in your tracks, stared at the diligent Bell Tower or studious Sully statue in the distance and thought to yourself, this place is magical.
Well, no wonder you thought so! In fact, A&M is basically the equivalent to living your dreams out as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! With over 60,000 wizards, uh, wait, I mean college students, attending Texas A&M, it's one of the most enchanted (and best) schools in the nation, and here's why:
1. Potential students wait nervously for their acceptance letters in the mail.
An owl delivering a message is just about equally as cool as popping open your "I'm going to be an Aggie!" sign.
2. You're sorted into different houses.
AKA, organizations: Greek Life, The Corp, Flo's, Clubs, Sports. You find your home away from home. From there you have your own signs, symbols, colors, ya feeling my drift?
3. The Flag Room is basically the equivalent of the candle-lite dining hall at Hogwarts.
Have you ever sat in the glorious Flag Room studying and suddenly somebody starts playing the Harry Potter opening song on the grand piano? Dun duhh dun duh dun duhhh duh duh, duh duh duh duh duh duhhh. Between the music, the elegant golden glowing chandeliers and prestigious flags hanging from a giant globe, its magical y'all.
4. Aggie rings make a student as identifiable as a Hogwarts student with their wand.
Each Aggie picks out the specific size, finish, diamond--no diamond, maybe even a diamond wrap? Whereas, a wizard's wand is also one of the most unique yet distinguished thing about them, personalized and punctual. If you spot a student, or may I say wizard walking around with their ring, cough, wand, you immediately know what family they belong to.
5. Bell towers? we have those too!
On home game days the tower bell rings in the distance with jolly chimes and tunes that get any fan ready to jump on the field in the middle of a football game to help the team win as the twelfth man, just as the bell tower at Hogwarts rings mysteriously on the horizon.
6. The Queen can dismiss us from class.
Although we may not have messenger pigeons to deliver us notes of an early dismissal or special call to heroically save a friend, we do have the one and only Miss Reville, and when her majesty barks in the middle of a lecture, class is let out.
7. Transportation...
To arrive to and fro campus, you may or may not have to enter through Platform 9 and 3/4 on the mystical train known as the Aggie Spirit Bus. Oh, the glory of those pearly white curb hitting busses.
8. We've got sports!
Us Ags have a Quiditch Team, I bet ya didn't have that in High School, aye?
