I’ve always had a love for quotes and what they stand for. I loved that they could have multiple meanings and relate to almost anyone’s life and situations. They let you know that you aren’t the only one going through a struggle, but they also inspire you too keep going. If I ever feel I’m losing sight of my goals, or motivation I always find myself looking back at these quotes and reminding myself why I’m doing what I am doing. That it is possible and I can succeed. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share the quotes I live by and maybe shed a little light and perspective in your life.

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” -- Confucius

There are times in life when we feel like nothing we do is working. We try and try, again and again, but never seem to get what we want. This quote reminds me that hard work pays off. You just can’t give up. Yeah, it may take longer than you expect it too, but everything will work out the way it was meant to be.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” -- Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi was such an inspirational human being and I respect everything that he represents. He was a peaceful man, and I find this quote to be so inspirational. We can stand here and talk about all the things we want to be changed, but why wait when we as individuals can be that change?

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” -- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mr. King, such a courageous man. Only spoke the truth and in my opinion, truly helped pave the way for the opportunities I am currently able to have. This quote is so relevant to my current generation and my life. There are so many social injustices and issues we have in this day age that still have yet to be spoke upon and fixed. I think this quote speaks volumes, for those that hold back and say nothing because these issues do matter. They aren’t going to just disappear if we keep our mouths shut and do nothing.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” -- Martin Luther King, Jr.

This quote speaks for itself. It’s beautiful and I hope the whole world can truly live by this someday.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” -- Albert Einstein

I found this quote when I was a high school student and it’s always just stuck to me. So many people in my opinion value themselves based upon their GPA’s or compare themselves to people that they have nothing in common with. We are all great. We also all have different abilities and strengths. There is no other you and the you there is, is enough. And with that I’ll leave you with another one of my favorite quotes that are relevant to this: “Don’t look down upon someone, if you aren’t helping them up.” – Jesse Jackson

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, 'I'm possible'!” -- Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn, a beauty in her day and also an amazing philanthropist, says it best. Stop saying you can’t do something when you know you can! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it and believe it.

“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.” -- Omar Khayyam

I think he says it perfect; you never know what could happen. Make every day worthwhile and cherish and love all those you have around you because at the end of the day all we really, truly have is this one life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
