Sometimes when you're bored, the only thing you feel like doing is laying in bed with a bag of popcorn and binge-watching your favorite shows on Netflix. I know the feeling and I sometimes give into the temptation. Other times, however, I try to make the most of the little down time that I get by getting things done. Here are 8 productive things you can do when you don't have anything else to do:

1. Clean

Cleaning has become like therapy for me. I always feel like I get more work done when my work space is clean.

2. Work out

There’s nothing like the feeling after a good hard run on the treadmill.

3. Paint your nails

I don’t know why, but a fresh manicure always makes me feel put together.

4. Wash your bed linens

I feel like if you’re away at college, this one is extra productive. I have found washing my sheets to be one of the biggest struggles of dorm life. With only 3 washers and 2 dryers for a floor of 100 girls, it is certainly a struggle to get 3 loads done; but it will be worth it when you slide into fresh sheets and blankets at night.

5. Meal Prep

If you’re living off campus and you’re no longer on a meal plan, you’ll save so much money by meal prepping. Also, you will have healthy meals for the week without ever having to worry about going home to cook.

6. Organize your Google docs/drive

My Google Docs is currently SO unorganized and I know I would feel a lot better if I took the time to put everything into folders.

7. Clean out your email

I am definitely guilty of having over 10,000 unread emails in my inbox. I rarely sift through them, because I know that 99% of these are junk mail. However, I don’t see the 1% of important mail until 3 months later.

8. De-clutter

Over Christmas Break one year I filled 12 full-sized garbage bags with clothes I no longer wear and I donated them. It felt great to get that stuff out of my room, but it felt even better to give it to someone in need.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
