1. Spotty Wifi
"This wifi sucks." That's a phrase said daily by yours truly. Except for when I return home for a weekend or the holidays, that is. Mom's wifi puts that 5G at school to shame.
2. Cafeteria Food
Depending on what school you go to, this might not be that odd of a thing to be thankful for. Standing in line for mediocre baked chicken and bland vegetables all semester really makes home cooked meals look that much better.
3. Your Roommate's Alarm
If it wasn't for that obnoxious beeping every morning, we wouldn't appreciate being woken by our precious pupper's bark now would we?
4. Mini Fridges
Coming home is like entering a whole new world. Wait, so there's room for my hot pockets, personal pizza, frozen meals, AND my ice cream?? So much more food. SO MANY OPTIONS.
5. Campus Squirrels
Because the ones at home are way less scary ya know what I'm sayin'? If it wasn't for those little furry creatures, we'd be slightly less brave when encountering real world squirrels.
6. Only Seeing Your Professors on Campus
It always gets awkward seeing your elementary school English teacher in Wal-Mart. And sitting in front of your high school math teacher in Church is almost as weird. It makes you really thankful that you don't run into your advisor out in public.
7. Your Twin Size Bed
Not having enough room to spread out makes for countless nights of tossing and turning. Being home for break means always having a cold spot to put your legs.
8. Phone Calls From Your Parents
No matter how far you are away from home, getting to see your parents is a real joy. Sure you get to talk to them daily or weekly, but there's nothing like hugging your mom as you walk in the door.
