Nothing beats curling up on the couch and popping in a movie. However, the worst decision is deciding which movie to watch. There are thousands of options between your DVD collection, Netflix, and Hulu. I compiled a (short) list of movies that will always be good options to watch.
1. The Breakfast Club (1985)
I saw The Breakfast Club for the first time last year, and I immediately fell in love. It may be over 30 years old but teenagers today can relate to the characters. This film touches on relevant issues high schoolers face while also making light of the character's situation in detention. The Breakfast Club will always be one of my favorite 80's movie.
2. Baby Mama (2008)
Baby Mama is a great movie for numerous reasons. The main reason is because of the duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. This never fails to make me laugh throughout the movie and I can watch it over and over again.
3. We're The Millers (2013)
This is another great comedy, plus it has Jennifer Aniston. Like Baby Mama, this is a goofy comedy with many great one-liners. When I see this is playing on TV I can't resist watching it.
4. Mean Girls (2004)
I remember when Mean Girls first came out. It addresses (and exaggerates) high school cliques and drama. It's a classic Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams movie. Still to this day, it's one of my favorite movies.
5. Forrest Gump (1994)
I first watched Forrest Gump with my parents and it instantly became a favorite of mine. I loved following Forrest and Jenny's story throughout the movie. It is honestly a classic movie that everyone should watch.
6. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (2012)
The Perks of Being A Wallflower is the best coming of age story and is very relatable. I read the book and instantly fell in love with it as well as Logan Lerman. The movie addresses many issues such as high school, drugs, alcohol, and family problems, which are very real to some.
7. The Sandlot (1993)
I only saw The Sandlot for the first time a few years ago when I was on vacation. It perfectly captures America's pastime, baseball. The group of boys is the original squad goals, from Smalls to Ham to Benny.
8. Easy A (2010)
Easy A is the movie that made me fall in love with Emma Stone. It follows Olive through a series of webcasts where she talks about navigating through the rumor mill. She makes numerous connections to the famous novel, The Scarlet Letter.
The hardest thing about watching a movie is picking the movie itself. If I'm flipping through the channels on the TV and come across any of these movies, I can't help but watch them. They never get old and will always be some of my favorites.
