In a world of high-waisted everything and contour kits galore, those of us with a "low maintenance" style have been left to fend for ourselves. While all of our friends are constantly pinning new style trends to try and spending their entire paychecks at Sephora, us low maintenance folks stay true to what we know and love (usually some sort of leggings combo). If you consider yourself to have a low maintenance style, you will probably find yourself agreeing with the following eight points.

1. Leggings are your best friend.

The versatile, skin-tight, black pant has become a staple in your wardrobe. Simple enough to be paired with a cute top when you have to exert an effort into what you are wearing, yet still comfortable enough that you don't feel completely bad about not wearing sweatpants for once. Major bonus points if they are technically workout pants, and you can wear them to the gym after wearing them out all day.

2. You have two types of sweats: "nice" sweats and "home" sweats.

Let's face it, you'd rather be in sweatpants and a hoodie no matter what the occasion is, but you know better than to wear your ex-boyfriend from sophomore year of high school's sweatpants to the grocery store. That is why you have your pile of "nice" sweats, the ones you got as a gift from Victoria's Secret for Christmas because even your family understands you would much rather be comfortable over anything else.

3. If you are planning on working out at some point in the day, you wear your gym clothes everywhere you go for that day.

"Thanks, I'm going to the gym later" you say as you get a compliment on your Nike gym shorts that you decided to wear to your doctor's appointment at 10 a.m. The truth is, you are probably planning on going to the gym, but not until much later, like, 9 p.m later. Regardless, you couldn't care less because the clothes are cute and comfortable. We can thank the #fitspo models on Instagram for making this part of our style mainstream.

4. When you have to look nice for something, you have a few go to outfits.

Because you don't dress up for every day of your life. When you have to put real clothes on, you have those few go to outfits that have always been there for you. These outfits require very little thought or effort into putting them together, which is exactly why you love them and continue to wear them again and again.

5. When it comes to makeup trends, we like to play it safe.

Lip kits, brow game and colorful contouring are all major keys to the wonderful world of makeup. While I applaud the women who can take the time to apply these beauty products and look great, it is just not in the agenda of a gal with low maintenance style. We will stick to the same makeup style we have probably all mastered at this point because it has basically been the same since we started wearing makeup. A little bit of powder and mascara will go a long way.

6. Having a love/hate relationship with jeans.

Jeans can be cool. Casual and able to match just about anything, they are a low maintenance girl's dream. However, when compared to the other wardrobe options (leggings, sweatpants, gym shorts, etc.), they can be a pain when it comes to comfort. Luckily for us, "jeggings" and other comfortable forms of jeans have become a thing.

7. Appreciating a put together outfit, despite the fact that you would never wear it yourself

Just because our style has been deemed low maintenance doesn't mean that we don't appreciate a nice high maintenance outfit. We just are far less likely to put that sort of effort into something we may only wear once and probably won't pull off.

8. Feeling on top of the world when you actually get dressed up for something and you get tons of compliments.

I'm pretty sure that the general public thinks that low maintenance style girls are incapable of dressing up and looking good. That is what makes it so much better when we actually do get all done up and go out. The shocked faces and "oh my gosh you look amazing" comments will never get old. And to think it's all because we put on a dress, combed our hair and applied mascara...

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
