8 Fun Things You Can Do Now That it is Fall
Alex Feehan

Fall is my favorite time of the year. The season is the perfect balance of summer and winter. I love the breezy weather, the falling leaves, the bundling up and so much more! Every year I cannot wait for fall to come around and here are eight reasons why!

1. Pumpkin picking

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129431651560766289269191_Uno.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=956&h=2c829e531f5ebc2c8b25e117da3960c79d0ea588ed48aae4d9498db6cc5859fd&size=980x&c=3084622413 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129431651560766289269191_Uno.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D956%26h%3D2c829e531f5ebc2c8b25e117da3960c79d0ea588ed48aae4d9498db6cc5859fd%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3084622413%22%7D" expand=1]

It’s always so much fun to go to a pumpkin patch with your best friends and have fun picking out pumpkins to ultimately take home with you!

2. Corn Mazes

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129432684560745-2011745508_Dos.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=175&h=2f0342ac47d2d06344496feff550edf4761b36bbc0f168b01c1dbf949eb5ac0d&size=980x&c=1438582998 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129432684560745-2011745508_Dos.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D175%26h%3D2f0342ac47d2d06344496feff550edf4761b36bbc0f168b01c1dbf949eb5ac0d%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1438582998%22%7D" expand=1]

The place that you went to go pumpkin picking with your friends might have a corn maze too and you will have tons of fun trying to find your way out of it, live snapchatting the whole way. Try not to get lost for two hours like we did though!

3. Pumpkin carving

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129434525429829-2130896823_Tres.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=77&h=35f221a9d30f3ec950bb969f219776c8f20cf5c3a20431852c0dfe9e1a0238c6&size=980x&c=3200334426 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129434525429829-2130896823_Tres.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D77%26h%3D35f221a9d30f3ec950bb969f219776c8f20cf5c3a20431852c0dfe9e1a0238c6%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3200334426%22%7D" expand=1]

It’s also a lot of fun to carve them pumpkins, they can be extravagant like this one or you could even just carve a simple smiley face!

4. Pumpkin flavored everything

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129435924005760801497487_Cuatro.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=141&h=970f6c7d544cb053f2c6dfc590c815e687881fdc7168d95b98f22f764d440a2b&size=980x&c=2131780190 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129435924005760801497487_Cuatro.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D141%26h%3D970f6c7d544cb053f2c6dfc590c815e687881fdc7168d95b98f22f764d440a2b%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2131780190%22%7D" expand=1]

Who doesn’t love pumpkin flavored muffins, cakes, pie, lattes, coffee, donuts etc.? The list goes on and on and you just have to indulge in your favorite pumpkin treat! By the end of fall you’re usually sick of pumpkin flavored everything, but that’s okay you have a whole year to want the treats again!

5. Sweater weather and boots

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F6361294364497660481696814686_Cinco.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=524&h=8b8c49569d0570d3044ed65a4746b65b04a1be143e199265a607a05a0eca028d&size=980x&c=1449807859 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F6361294364497660481696814686_Cinco.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D524%26h%3D8b8c49569d0570d3044ed65a4746b65b04a1be143e199265a607a05a0eca028d%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1449807859%22%7D" expand=1]

I know I love when I can finally throw on a sweater and boots without feeling uncomfortably hot. Oversized sweaters are the best on a breezy day and they make you look cute too!

6. Bundling up with a sweater, tea, and a good book

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129437820940284-2022623800_Seis.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=285&h=13f2e76b9d90fbf86e3728063b82e8bd7a07cb8b6cd9c2e791daf84980edd82d&size=980x&c=3587495019 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129437820940284-2022623800_Seis.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D285%26h%3D13f2e76b9d90fbf86e3728063b82e8bd7a07cb8b6cd9c2e791daf84980edd82d%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3587495019%22%7D" expand=1]

This kind of weather can often make you want to stay indoors bundled up in a blanket, with a nice cup of tea, reading your favorite book. It sounds like the perfect day to me!

7. Actually getting to sleep with a blanket

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129438879872236-1396280341_Siete.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=650&h=b2caf50a96b3d24cb490b0e26f05a11475224cc0705fb6521933cad2ebe2bf1a&size=980x&c=2547743286 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129438879872236-1396280341_Siete.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D650%26h%3Db2caf50a96b3d24cb490b0e26f05a11475224cc0705fb6521933cad2ebe2bf1a%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2547743286%22%7D" expand=1]

Finally, it is not 90 degrees in your room and you actually get to sleep with a blanket without having your fan on high. It’s amazing to not wake up feeling overheated!

8. Celebrate Halloween

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2F24%2F636129439850519848258692786_Ocho.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=2&h=dd804c11d270a3d630999570e11d5fb0f363df8af52d38f231d8442bda7ab5bf&size=980x&c=4136232304 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F10%252F24%252F636129439850519848258692786_Ocho.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D2%26h%3Ddd804c11d270a3d630999570e11d5fb0f363df8af52d38f231d8442bda7ab5bf%26size%3D980x%26c%3D4136232304%22%7D" expand=1]

Last but not least, the holiday that everybody looks forward to when fall comes around. You get to pretend to be someone else for a day and make amazing memories with your friends, what could be better?

To The Boy Who Changed Me

Just another open letter from a crazy ex-girlfriend.

You’re probably thinking, “oh sh*t, my ex is writing a hate letter and a tell-all about our roller coaster tycoon relationship with terrible fallout.” But if you’re thinking that, oh honey you’re wrong. This isn’t some sappy pity party nonsense and it’s not a trash-my-ex tell all; it’s a journey. And it’s my side of our story to tell…

Dear College Students, Are You Undecided?

Up until last week, I always had a major. I was an international business major, finance major, psych major on the pre-medicine track… and now (finally) I am exactly where I should have been when I started college: undecided. I think there is too much pressure as a high school student to have a designated path about what you want to study, be when you 'grow up' and essentially spend the rest of your life doing. As an 18-year-old, I really feel like I tried to pin myself down to a major so that I had a set path to follow and something to look towards. This is probably very conventional and I know tons of people at school who have their minds made up about what they want to study.

Life Is Messy

Finding who you are in your 20s

Life Is Messy

I am 25 years old and just now learning who I am. When I separated from my husband I was terrified of what would follow. I did not know who I was outside of a relationship, nor did I know how to be on my own. It was scary, and I was so lost. I spent months discovering who I was, and what I wanted to be. I am still searching as I believe we never truly know who we are even when we "grow up". I came to the realization that I had been hiding a part of myself for my entire life. Coming out was not easy, growing up in the church made it scary, and hard. I was told growing up that being anything but straight was such a sin, and that i would spent my life in hell because of it. I came out to my parents when I was 25 years old. I picked up the phone and called my mom, and uttered the words "I'm queer" through tears. I knew my parents would be supportive, but that didn't make it any easier for me to vulnerable and raw. Since then, I have slowly started being more authentic in who I am, and not hide parts of me just because of people's shitty opinions.

Alone At The Met

I survive a day alone in NYC.

It was six in the evening. I was sitting in the courtyard of a Renaissance-era Italian villa, glancing around at the statues, most notably one of a boy removing a thorn from his foot. Despite the supposedly relaxing setting, I was incredibly anxious. My phone was at less than 5 percent battery, and once it died I would be completely disconnected from my family and peers, alone in one of the largest art museums in the country.
