Here are 8 things that anyone who grew up in Asia can probably relate to.

1. "Do you speak Chinese?"

No, no I do not. Try Japanese though?

2. "Do you like Asian?"

Please, tell me what this means.

3. "Ohhh, I noticed you had a funny accent!"

Nope.

4. "Wow! You speak English so well!"

Thank you! It's my first language!

5. "Do you know what the 4th of July is?"

It's just a regular summer day, is it not? JK I'm American. We go hard or go home for this holiday at home kid.

6. "Have you heard the national anthem before?"

I could sing it for you backwards. I heard it every day at precisely 1700. Every. Single. Day.

7. "If you're from Japan, why are you white?"

First off, I grew up in Japan, the Lord only knows where I’m from.

8. "So if you went to a military school, does that mean you've killed anyone?"

No, but I just might right now.

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
