8 Disney Channel Shows You Miss Having in Your Life

8 Disney Channel Shows You Miss Having in Your Life
Hollywood Reporter
Way before Miley Cyrus cut off all her hair and came in like a wrecking ball, she had a very successful Disney Channel show.

We all miss the old Disney Channel. With new episodes premiering every Friday night, in front of our TV with a bowl of popcorn was the place to be. We couldn't wait to catch the newest episode. Here are a few of the oldest, and best ones.

1. Kim Possible

Not only was Kim a kick-ass spy with a catchphrase, cool gadgets and an arch-nemisis (Shego, Drakken etc), but she also was a super hot cheerleader who could rock crop tops and cargo pants. ALL in high school. Bravo, Kim. Bravo.

2. Lizzie McGuire

We identified with clumsy Lizzie McGuire as we watched her struggle through her awkward years, hanging at the Digital Bean with Gordo and Miranda and longing for the adult things of life, like owning a bra and getting a kiss from Ethan Craft. Lizzie may not have been a spy, but she certainly had a nemesis. Kate Sanders' best line? “What’s your email, Lizzie? Lizzie@BigGiantLoser.com?”

3. Even Stevens

Every character on this show was a riot. Over-achieving big sister Ren, Donnie the football playing older brother, Steven's bacon-loving neighbor, Beans, Crazy Coach Tugnut, Twitty and Louis's ridiculous bumbling adventures, Tawny the individualistic feminist, and the over-involved Principle Wexler. This show was literally gold, especially the musical episode (we went to the moooooon, in 1969!). The show was so good that Disney Channel even made a movie of it.

4. Phil of the Future

Two words: Diffy Family. While not my favorite of the past Disney shows, it still had some great moments. With villain Vice Principal Hakcett always on their backs, taking care of their pet caveman Curtis, trusting Keeley Teslow and her not-so-secret crush on Phil with their family secret, and evil little sister Pim Diffy's various schemes, the show had some laughs. The biggest cliff-hanger of my life was when we never found out what happened to Curtis after the Diffy's finally fixed their time machine and travelled back to the future.

5. That's So Raven

Raven was by far the sassiest character to ever come across Disney Channel. She brought the lawlz every single time. Each episode was filled with classic one-liners ("Ya little nasty") and ridiculous outfits Raven, Chelsea and Eddie would don in order to prevent (or achieve) Raven's crazy visions (remember when Raven dressed up and pretended to be a bird sculpture?). Raven's dad even owned a restaurant called the Chill Grill, which was easily the coolest hangout spot. Besides if you were a Boyz 'n Motion groupie, that is.

6. The Proud Family

The Proud Family had quite a few sassy characters of its own. There was the sassy Dijonay Jones (whose vertical ponytail must have been part of her ploy to gain Sticky's affections), Sugamama (Penny's boss-ass grandma), the Gross Sisters (gross because they were blue?), bitchy LaCienega Boulevardez (who declared herself in a higher class cause she was really rich and latino), and Oscar Proud (Penny's over-protective man, who ruled that Penny wasn't allowed to date until she was married). The theme song was even sung by Destiny's Child!

7. Hannah Montana

Way before Miley Cyrus cut off all her hair and came in like a wrecking ball, she had a very successful Disney Channel show. And we're talking OG Hannah Montana here, none of that Hannah Montana Forever shit. Miley Stewart was cute, sweet, had a great family (with her actual dad even starring as her dad in the show) and group of friends (until Lilly and Oliver started dating...talk about a third wheel). But most importantly, she was a popstar in disguise. Lucky you, Miley. You get to record albums AND learn Algebra just like a normal teen! Achey Jakey Heart will always be my favorite episode; how could she have let him go?!

8. The Suite Life of Zach and Cody

Zach and Cody live a suite life in the Tipton Hotel, where their mother performs as a singer at night. They befriend Maddie (the poor girl who works the candy counter), London (heiress of Tipton Hotels), Arwin (the loony hotel engineer who wants to bang Zach and Cody's mom), Muriel (the old and delusional hotel maid who pretends to be a 24 year old named Britney online), and Mr. Moseby (the hotel manager always trying to catch the twins in their mischeif). Not only did we get to watch these adorable twins grow up, but it also was probably the only show to have a smart blonde and a dumb Asian character.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
