Over the years many video games have been made and sold around the world. Some of these games have created a reputation for themselves. This caused each of them to become a never ending game series because every generation loves them. Other games were just addicting to a particular age group and even when we grew out of these games, the next set of kids would begin them. Most of them turned into sequels and have gone even further to keep the stories alive. These games are the most memorable from our younger days and most of them are still with us today, just with a lot better graphics and quality!
1. Super Mario World
To this day we still play Mario games in our life. Most recently they have brought the old Mario games from the Super Nintendo to Nintendo 3DS. They have also created spin off games for characters like Luigi and Yoshi to expand the love of Mario to our other favorite characters from the game. We all remember the excitement of getting to use Yoshi from time to time and how important the power-up mushrooms are to game play!
2. Mario Kart
Mario Kart, yet another game started on the Super Nintendo, is still played widely today. This was one of the first spin off games from Mario. Not only can you play it on the newest Nintendo gaming systems but some arcades have a Mario Kart racing game as well! This popular game consists of racing against opponents, usually your friends, to win with the fun Mario characters we all know and love!
3. Pokémon
Pokémon is another game still widely played. Starting with the Gameboy people got into Pokémon and many of those people stuck with the game over the years as lifelong fans and game players. The favorites of the bunch have always been Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu, also the most original of the Pokémon. With every new game release fans rejoice around the world to once again be in the world of Pokémon with a new adventure awaiting them.
4. Nintendogs
Nintendogs was extremely popular in elementary school for most of us. Everyone had all the different versions so they could have whatever kind of dog was their favorite. Unfortunately, not many of us actually remembered to feed our Nintendogs. Today, they have expanded Nintendogs to also have cats, which is great news for all the cat lovers out there!
5. Crash Bandicoot
Crash was always a favorite, running through each level smashing boxes, avoiding obstacles and sometimes riding polar bears through the level. This game was a cute game that’s main character, Crash, made all of us want to play again and again until we beat all the levels in each world! While this game was only made available on Playstation, it was a great series that unfortunately has not been creating games very recently.
6. The Sims
A longtime favorite that has become increasingly better with each newly released version. As a Sim we create lives of our own and make our Sims do whatever we want them too. When The Sims 2 was released EA eventually began creating expansion packs to enhance what you could do in the game. These became equally as important as the game itself and people had tons of them. We could run our own business or get cool new furniture from our expansion packs. Some of the best parts of the game were having maids, attempting to trap the pizza guy in your yard, building houses and families and of course the cheat codes that made playing Sims easier than ever!
7. The Legend of Zelda
Yet another game that began in our childhood and is still made today, The Legend of Zelda. This game is about saving princess Zelda while you are the character Link trying to save the princess. Contrary to what I believed as a child, your character is not Zelda. Over the years they have made new editions of this story line but fighting to save a princess in the original was always an exciting adventure made difficult by the guards in most cases!
