Every girl knows the struggle of getting a squad pic that is classy, appropriate, attractive, instaworthy, and the most difficult: approved by everyone and their mother. Because let's be honest, they care more than we do [and that's a lot].
Key 1: This photo-op must happen before actually going out for the highest success rate & mom-approval
Girl #1
There are always those types of girls who quite frankly couldn't care less. These are the best type. You probably have a lot of pictures with them, because you are free to choose which ever photo you look best in. Shoutout to y'all, a true rare breed. I envy you.
Girl #2
Totally opposite from type 1, the type 2 girls literally refuse to take a real picture at all. They may be Snapchat queen, but that is the only photo appearance they will dare to make [because it's for 3 seconds, only available for a 24 hour period]. I get it, it's fine. Hey, they're always around and will happily take 15 pics, in four different angles for everyone who wants one. So type 2, you do have your perks. Thanks for the photo ops. We'll give you photo creds. PS, sorry in advance your birthday insta consists of selfies only.

The easy to please. These girls are not the most hated in the picture process. They love to be in the picture, left side? Fine. Right side? Sure! Candids? Definitely. By varying your presence in every pic, you are the real winner and most likely to have the largest variety. Teach me your ways.

Possibly the most basic/and or popular, 21st century product of instagram girls---whose motto is "an app can make any picture worth posting"---after waking up with 17 & a half pictures to choose from, you narrow it down, edit everyone, send to the group for approval, and post shortly after a slight intervention of re-editing and an argument over a filter. Type 4, thanks for the picture perfect posts of everyone, your 479 likes are well earned. I love you, bc who doesn't want to look their best in an insta available for everyone's eyes to see for the rest of eternity?

Babe, stop. Editing is awesome and totally advocate it, but at least attempt to edit E V E R Y O N E in the picture....it's obvious when you don't. Pics are cuter when everyone is equally perfect. I don't care if you don't even know/like that girl in the back corner, I'm willing to bet we've all been her before. I promise it will only take you 2 minutes longer, you're already a pro.
Girl #6
The cropper. Before anyone gets offended, we all occasionally have to crop a friend out, whether by demand, appropriateness, or a simple request. This is fine, but at the same time should be done cautiously. Props to any girl who so graciously cropped me out for any of the above reasons. I appreciate you & will do the same for you if need be.

The instant poster---I dread waking up the next morning [after half the day has passed by] only to see my worst [un-edited] moment, pose, facial expression, outfit mishap, a questionable background, and iffy caption, all condensed into one gruesome photo posted at 3:57 AM. We are all more than likely guilty of this. Luckily, these instas are normally deleted, even if it is 9 hours later and everyone has seen and formed their newfound opinion on you...based solely on that one Instagram mistake. Lol, sorry we will all [try to be] be more rational next time.
Key 2: also, must be posted before midnight, if not, everyone loves a classy morning insta of the night before.
Key 3: the caption... Our mothers prefer we spare the curse words {even if it is song lyrics that so accurately fit the nights description}. We should probably listen to them more on this. It just looks better.
DISCLAIMER: Don't try to call anyone out, please. We all have been each type during one point in a photo op or two. Sometimes you just don't mind not seeing the photo after its taken, or you're just not at all about that Instagram life & would rather be left out of the picture. Maybe you prefer the other side of the camera lens. So what if you use 3 apps before posting? Or if you post at 3AM only to delete it 9 hours later. I mean if you don't have 2 minutes to spare and can only edit yourself, you just do you. If cropping/blurring is necessary, no one is judging. It happens.
So don't stop taking pictures, don't stop 'gramming them. BUT seriously, let everyone do themselves. We're all entitled to it. You've been there, so just vibe with it & like the picture anyway. No hard feelings.
Xo.
