When Netflix began streaming this beloved show, many of us were eager to reconnect with our favorite mother-daughter duo, yet we were also able to travel down memory lane with their pop culture references and use of now-outdated technology. Here's just a glimpse of a few times Gilmore Girls dated itself.
1. A Digital Camera
She just wanted to take a picture of Rory on her first day of college...using a camera the size of her own face.
2. Hardcopy college applications
We're just as shocked as you are, Lorelai, that this is how people used to apply to college.
3. Landlines 
At least it's cordless...
4. A DVD Player
In the days before instant-streaming and HDMI cables, people had to set up these pieces of machinery before they could enjoy a nice movie in their homes (that is, assuming the DVD wasn't scratched or anything).
5. An actual print newspaper
I like to think that the conversation between them is going something like this:
Rory: Just think, one day, newspapers will be available online and no one will read these print ones anymore.
Lorelai: *gasp* Go on...
6. Pay Phone
I just hope that Taylor's construction project didn't do any damage to this precious antique.
7. A Flip Phone
Not going to lie, the dramatic effect of hanging up on someone with your flip phone will probably forever appeal to me.
