7 things I'm thankful for this week

It’s November, which means I spend time each day reflecting on one or more things that I’m thankful for that day. Now, typically this is done via Facebook post, but I’m moving up in the world and have other ways to express my thanks. (I.E. Odyssey.) I know that November started on a Tuesday, but to keep this easy, I’m going to start with Sunday.

Note: I’m thankful for these things all the time, I just don’t always take the time to write out a whole blog about them!

So, without further ado, here are the 7 things I am thankful for this week.

  1. Sunday - 10/30: The Walking Dead.
Thanks, AMC, for giving me something to look forward too every week in the fall. Especially on a day when the weekend is almost over and I still have a long week ahead of me! TWD time is the little bit of time each week that I take a break from everything else and relax a little bit. For that I’m thankful.
  2. Monday – 10/31: My parents.
This day was their 25-year wedding anniversary! Without trying to sound too cliché, thank you both so much for all you’ve done for me and sis, for always pushing me to be the best, for never letting me down, for the sacrifices you’ve made and for so much more. No amount of words could truly express my gratitude for all of your support throughout my life, so a simple “thank you” will have to do.
  3. Tuesday – 11/1: Coffee.
Thanks for helping me get through the longest day of the week. Tuesday’s are rough to say the least and I couldn’t do them without you. So, thanks for pushing me to survive even when I question if it’s possible. Oh, well and every other day of the week too.
  4. Wednesday – 11/2:
My jobs. Yes, jobs. I currently have two jobs and while it gets chaotic trying to juggle both, as well as school and wedding planning, I’m thankful for the opportunity to work. I understand that some people lack that and that I’m lucky to have the ability and opportunity to work. Thank you to the employers who gave me the chance and who work with my busy schedule to make it possible.
  5. Thursday – 11/3:
The early morning commute. I drive an hour to class every Tuesday and Thursday, typically leaving at 6 am. While it gets exhausting, and waking up that early isn’t fun at all, I’m thankful for this drive. With a busy, non-stop life, I rarely have time to stop and reflect on everything but during my commute it’s almost like time slows down and I actually have time to think. For that, I’m thankful.
  6. Friday – 11/4: My friend gym.
It’s a love/hate with this one. Hate waking up early to workout, but love the way I feel after it’s over. Thank you for testing my limits and showing me that I can do anything with a little work (or a lot).
  7. Saturday – 11/5:
My dogs, Buster and Koda. These boys are my whole world. They brighten every day with their smiling faces and goofy actions. Thankful that they’re forgiving of my busy life and still greet me with all of the excitement in the world, no matter how long I’ve been gone.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
