Going to a small college definitely has its ups and downs. If you are a student at a small college you will no doubt relate to these 7 things:

1. It's not like high school

Just because there are not very many people on your campus, does not mean it is like high school. Those of us who go to a small college hate this assumption. It is completely different than high school because you still have the opportunity to live on a campus away from home and not sit in class for 6 hours straight.

2. You know almost everyone on campus

You cannot walk anywhere on campus without having to say hello to someone. You are always walking past people you know. Even though it feels as if you know everyone, it is still very easy to meet new people every day.

3. You roll out of bed 10 minutes before class starts

When class is only a 5-minute walk away, why get up early to get there? We do not have to take a bus to class or walk for miles like people do at other colleges. It is necessary to take advantage of the extra sleep every single morning.

4. It's easy to get those steps in because you are able to walk everywhere

Unlike a large college, every place on campus is in a short walking distance. We walk absolutely everywhere. In all honesty, a car is not really even needed. Make sure you wear your Fitbit because you will definitely be reaching your goal for a number of steps daily.

5. You would not be able to focus if you had a 300 person lecture hall

Having small classes is nice because you are able to get to know your teacher and ask them questions easily. Small classes also require you to pay attention since it is obvious to see when you have absolutely no idea what is going on. Let's be honest, we would have no idea what was going on in a class with more than 30 people; we would probably be sleeping.

6. No one knows what or where your school is

"Where is that?" "What college?" All students at a small school have heard these questions. It gets annoying to explain this to everyone, but at the same time you would much rather explain the amount of pride you have for your school rather than have them judge your school from the start.

7. You never got lost your freshman year

The campus is so small that it is easy to find out where everything is. Adjusting to college life is so much better when you are not constantly getting lost. You know your campus inside and out.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
