8 Things Over-Involved Students Can All Agree Upon

We literally have no lives outside of what we are involved in.

1. You forget to eat.

You get so caught up in classes and moving from one meeting to the next that before you know it, it is 4 p.m. and you realize you have not eaten anything all day except for that granola bar you had on your way to class

2. You are required to be at two places at once and you have no idea which place to choose.

You have a mandatory meeting at 6 p.m., but you also have to be present at an event at 6 p.m. and you know whichever one you pick someone will get mad at you. So how do you decide? You make your decision based on which one you can barely talk yourself out of.

3. Planners are as necessary as breathing.

I never really used planners until this year. I was always pretty good at remembering what I had to do and when, but this year I realized I was not going to make it through if I didn't order one.

4. You have to schedule free time.

You feel like you literally have no time to just surf the web or watch an episode of your favorite show on Netflix, so you make yourself finish your homework in one hour instead of two so you can get in that free time.

5. Any morning you get to sleep in is a gift sent from God.

Weekends, a canceled class, or even a holiday gives us those extra couple hours of sleep that make us feel rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. It is crazy how much those few hours can make a difference.

6. You never walk anywhere on campus without seeing at least five to ten people you know.

When you immerse yourself in various organizations, you meet SO MANY people, and somehow you learn and remember everyone's names.

7. You have questioned whether or not you should drop out of something but never actually quit.

You keep playing that "what if" game thinking how life would be if you eliminated that one extracurricular. In the end though, you tell yourself that everything is going to be fine and that you can do it all.

8. You love the life you have created.

As stressed-out as you can get sometimes with every meeting, event and class, you do it with a smile on your face and never complain because you love it. Being involved is how you thrive, and through those organizations you meet some of the best people and make some of the best memories.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
