If you spent 12-14 years of your life at the same school, you were considered a "Lifer". You have spent 12-14 years (maybe even more) with these kids and it seems that they almost become family, even if they aren't. You can't wait to get away from your hometown for a long period of time, but as soon as you do, even as much as you might hate to admit it, you miss it all, and (most) people.
1. EVERYONE has at least ONE cousin at school with them
(at one point I had 10 cousins plus a sister at the same school)
2. If you had an older sibling, chances are you probably will get called their name in class
and on the inside you feel like this
but on the outside you respond anyways with it and look like this
3. You've been going to the same school with the same people since preschool
and some of you will have #fourmoreyears
4. Secrets
What's a secret??
5. Two Words: DRESS CODE
wether you had a uniform or a strict dress code someone was always getting in trouble for “dress code violation”
6. Moms Know ALL
sometimes, the mothers find stuff out before their own children know
7. Everyone Knows Everyone
and all of their family members from that town
8. Your School Might Look Like A Small Private College Campus
that is still growing...
9. Happiest Moment Of Your High School Career
you throw your caps as the headmaster says "Class of *insert graduating class year here* Dismissed"!
And then it hits you, no more sporting events, no more school dances, no more hearing a teacher tell you to report to the office because of a "dress code violation", no more "lasts", only "firsts" from now on. everything you seemed to have known changes and you have three months to live it all up before you are all on your own. It is a bittersweet moment that you want to pass, but will never forget.
