There are always those moments where we look back and reflect on all the things we wish we could have done if we had the balls to do them. I’m not saying that I have regrets, or things I wish I could take back, but, things I could have done if I had the same courage that I have now. And then I wonder how that would affect the person I am today. What would have changed? Would I have become a different person than I am now if I had courage back then? Well, would you?
Well let’s find out the seven things I’ve always wanted to do if I had the balls:
1. Go zip lining through Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Mystic Mountain is a tour and attraction adventure place in Jamaica where my family and I went when I was about nine years old. We took a sky lift to get to the top of the mountain (which was super terrifying because the only thing preventing me from plummeting 800 feet into the Jamaican rainforest was a tiny metal bar and my mom’s oversized purse) and then we took a "bobsled" rollercoaster down the mountainside which was very exciting. However, I have always wanted to try the zip line. Usually I chicken out because very high ladders scare me and I always think that I would be the one incident where the harness broke or I would get stuck in the middle of the rope. Although, if I had the opportunity to do it today, I definitely would (after 3 shots of tequila).
2. Tell my high school crush that he was a dick for not seeing how amazing I was (and still am)

3. To take a kickboxing class
For some reason, I am always self-conscious when working out, especially when it is doing an activity I have never done before. However, I have always been fascinated with boxing and kick boxing is a great way to lose weight and release negative energy. So I might try it this summer, who knows?
4. To tell people how I truly feel in the moment

5. To scream in public

6. To perform in the subway
For some reason I have always wanted to have a jam-sesh in the NYC subway like all the other musicians. I have a lot of family members who play instruments and it would be super dope to draw a huge crowd in. Of course it may be a great way to make a couple bucks, but it would be cool to have someone actually stop, listen, and hear the music through all the hustle and bustle. I also have a lot of respect for those musicians who pour their talents out into the world. I would also hope that I would end up on YouTube, or the Ellen show.
7. To write rejection letters to the universities and colleges that rejected me
When I was applying for colleges, my first rejection letter was from Fordham University in the Bronx. I was deeply saddened for about a week or so and thought that all of the other colleges that I applied for were going to reject me too. It is so easy for colleges to send out rejection letters to students who are probably hard-working, motivated and eager to learn. They crush our spirits, and sometimes limit our options. But wouldn’t it be badass if students returned those rejection letters to them? Like: “Dear Fordham, I am Danielle Lee and I am a kickass person who has been having a great experience at Ithaca College and excelling in my life. And when I am a top-notch journalist and featured on your TV screens you know what college they are going to say I am from? Not yours!”
Honestly this list could go on forever but I’m thinking you get the idea. There are so many things on this list that I could probably do if 1) I had the time and 2) weren’t in Ithaca currently freezing my butt off. However, I hope this list will give you the idea to brainstorm all the things you’ve wanted to do but never had the balls (or courage) to do, and let’s see if you follow through!
