7 Things You Definitely Know If You're A Jeep Girl

People never understand the bond between a girl and her Jeep. She will never accept another vehicle over her own Jeep. That Jeep has been with you through all your friendships and all your boyfriends. But never has she let you down.

1. You always volunteer to drive.

You always are modest of your Jeep. Yes, you do know that there are Jeeps nicer than yours but, you like to think that yours is the most badass. You always volunteer to show it off to your friends and their friends. But, you never hesitate to ask for gas money or ask how long the trip is since we don’t get the best gas mileage.

2. You own a Jeep shirt, or two... OK, you have five.

No, we are not talking about the Simply Southern shirts that have the flowery stuff on them. We are talking about the shirts that you get on JeepBeef or other sites that have outlines of your headlights and grill. We are talking about the shirts that have funny sayings like, “you can follow me but you won’t make it.” These shirts make you feel like you're apart of this group.

3. STICKERS

Your Jeep has stickers on the windshield and back window. Maybe you even have them on the sides. But, most Jeep hers have one that says, “if you can read this, tip me back over.” You might have the classic monogram on the back window. You might have your school logo on the front of back windshields. There are tons and tons of stickers to put on your jeep.

4. You’re not afraid of going off-road, potholes, the snow, the rain, anything.

Most girls would never think about taking their Jeep out to get it dirty. But us Jeep girls will be the first ones to take our Jeep out on a trail. We aren’t scared to sink it or flip it. We know that we have a Jeep for a reason and we better utilize it. We take our other girls with us and then they realize how much fun it is to have a Jeep.

5. You're a low-maintenance gal.

Jeep hair? We have jeep hair pretty much 9 months out of the year since that is when we can roll our windows down or take our doors off. You think hat hair is bad? Try having that and wind blowing crazy through your cap. So let's just say that brushing out your jeep hair is pretty much impossible. You might as well just get in the shower and condition it.

6. You're tough.

We have to roll with the bigs boys. We have to lift pretty heavy doors on and off. We also have to hold ridiculous clutches if you drive a stick. We also have to learn how to put our soft tops back up in record time because driving in the rain with no cover is tragic. We learn how to roll the right way so we know what we are doing. We learn where our Jeep can and can’t go so we can look like we know what we are doing. We aren’t scared of taking chances.

7. You're a keeper.

We know how to talk jeeps. We know what size tires and lifts we have. We know the brand of our lifts. We aren’t hard to buy for because all we want are new parts and gadgets for our baby. We are low maintenance so we much rather put our hats on and go ride around town and eat at Cookout. We know what it’s like to be badass women. Plus, who doesn’t love a girl in a jacked up Jeep?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
