Or sometimes you dance it out with your best friend at 3 a.m. Whoever you dance with, here are seven songs that will make your heart melt, get you dancing, and keep you going even when it doesn't seem possible.
1. Like No One's Watching - Molly SandƩn
This song is honestly for anyone who just likes to make a fool out of themselves. I know that it technically is a love song, but I like to interpret it as an anthem for the people that others think are weird. You dance like no one's watching girl! You do you, and be proud of your differences!
2. Wild Horses - Birdy
So this one is for all my brokenhearted independent girls. We all know the feeling of being left behind by the boy who we thought loved us. It sucks, but after being left broken in pieces the only thing that you can do is get back up. I don't know if it was the infectious melody or the chorus "I will survive and be the one who's stronger" that got me hooked to this song the first time that I heard it.
3. You - Robin Stjernberg
I have been listening to Robin Stjernberg for two years now, and I am yet to stop. There's something about Swedish pop artists that get me (or it might be my crazy obsession with the country, but who really knows). This was the Swedish entry at Eurovision (which if you don't know what Eurovision is, well look it up right now) in 2013, and Sweden chose right for that year. "You" will get stuck in your head immediately, and it won't leave for a good two weeks. You go Robin Stjernberg, you go!
4. Somebody to Love - Conchita Wurst
Ahhhhh, the bearded lady of Europe. Many call her the queen of Europe, and for right reasons. Conchita won Eurovision (there it is again) in 2014 in Copenhagen, and has since taken over the European music scene. A drag queen who professes love and tolerance, her debut album boasted many amazing songs of the same nature. "Somebody to Love" is a fun and upbeat ballad (oxymoron?) that will get you dancing but also yearning for, well, somebody to love.
5. Valiente - Paty CantĆŗ
So this one is for my Spanish speakers. This song gets me feeling every time I listen to it. We all know the feeling Cuando te dejĆ³ sola(o?) or yelling "VUELVEEEEEEEE" but knowing that he's not coming back. This power ballad makes me want to fight for love and all the good bad, and ugly that comes with it.
6. Roman Holiday - Halsey
Halsey is dominating in America right now, and this song is going to become a classic very soon. Once again, it makes me want to have that rough gritty love, the type of love that is real and passionate. The love where we can drive away under the cover of a cloudy sky and never look back. This song makes me want to have a love so haunting that I might just die from it. She also uses the title of one of my favorite movies so that's a bonus.
7. Where Does the Good Go - Tegan and Sara
Finally, the ultimate best friend song to dance it out to. This is for all my Meredith's and Christina's (I'm still heartbroken). The fact that it is so bittersweet makes me love it that much more. I know that before I left for college, my best friend and I danced it out one final time to this song. This song will have a special place in my heart forever. It is a song that I can go back to and remember all the good memories that have come from it.
