Sometimes we just need a little motivation. Just a little something to get us through the days. Nothing big just maybe an upbeat song. Music has a power above us. It can shape our moods, it can make us happy or sad. Sometimes you just need a song to motivate you.
Here's my top songs that put me in a much better mood on bad days. You might laugh at some of these, you might even judge me. Who knows? All I do know is, I've had some really bad days in my life. Oddly enough, these were the songs that turned them around.
1. "Monday Morning" by Fleetwood Mac
This song is reserved strictly for Monday mornings. Just kidding. It's the one of the most underrated Fleetwood Mac songs, but it is honestly one of my favorites. I love this song enough I have the two copies of the album! So many times my best friend and I have cruised to this song at one in the morning. The lyrics are actually quite dark but they are hidden by the upbeat sound.
2. "Famous" by The Indigos
It's one of those fun songs that just exhibits positive energy. The first time I ever heard this song was when The Indigos were just starting out. Since then I've heard it live at least 30 times but I still love it after all these years
.
3. "How Forever Feels" by Kenny Chesney
First, by no means am I a Kenny Chesney fan. I can listen to this music but I wouldn't buy an album or tickets. Althouhg, I have no problem singing karoke to this one with my person. I'm more likely to listen to this song in the summer by the pool. Either way, biases aside, it has a positive feel.
4. "Midnight Blue" by Cherlene
This one is actually from the Archer Season 5 soundtrack but I have to say, this one is is awesome. It's pretty much just about cruising, which was my only hobby in highschool. That's a joke. For being created for a TV show this is by far one of my favorite songs.
5. "Southern Cross" by Crosby, Stills, and Nash
I discovered this song during a time of a broken heart. A time that I felt insecure, unloved, and lonely. But there was a verse in this song that just got to me, it just struck something.
"...Somebody fine will come along make me forget about loving you..."
It's true though. Somebody did.
6. "It Won't Be Over You" by Stever Wariner
Stumbled onto this one by mistake, it let a Youtube playlist play and this popped up. I feel like I should be square dancing to it.
7. "Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club
I swear, as I'm writing this my boyfriend started dancing as I turned it on. This song get stuck in my head and sometimes I even work out to it! it just has those catchy lyrics and someone tell me, what is a karma chameleon?
