1. They’re ‘easy television’
Sometimes it’s nice to watch a movie without having to devote so much attention to it, while still enjoying it. Disney movies don’t require too much concentration to entertain viewers of any and all ages.
2. There’s something for everyone
Disney movies, although we categorize them together, are in no way similar: there’s Pixar, princesses, fairy-tales, musicals and more. No matter who you are or how old you are, there is a Disney movie to fit everyone’s interests.
3. They’re mood boosters
The one guarantee in a Disney movie is that there will always be a happy ending, and sometimes in life you need the therapy of a happy ending. Watch a Disney movie on Netflix after a bad day, and you’ll be surprised at how much happier you are.
4. The comedy is gold
Disney is notorious for hidden one-liners, and sneaky little jokes. Some of those side-kick characters' pure purpose is for a good laugh. In this day and age, we need some old-fashioned, innocent, cheesy humor for our own mental well-being.
5. You have to rewatch your favorite childhood movies to catch all the hidden dirty jokes
Script writers know that when they write these children’s movies, 50 percent of the people watching their movies are parents, so they make sure to not leave out some jokes for them. Of course as a child, you never notice these little inconspicuous jokes, but as an adult they hit you like a bus and make you wonder if Disney was that obvious or you were just that naive?
6. They really do have important life morals
We don’t notice the morals taught in Disney movies so much as kids because they’re implicit, but most definitely there. As adults, we notice them a little better; thanks for steering your children into high morality, Disney.
7. They feel like home
At the end of the day, no matter what your mood, Disney movies are comforting. They remind us that childhood innocence and fun are never too far away. And even though the oldies will always be the goodies, I hope Disney never stops making their unforgettable films.
