7 Reasons You Should Read Harry Potter

7 Reasons You Should Read Harry Potter

The Harry Potter series has been loved by millions since its beginning. If you're still not convinced of its greatness here are seven reasons you should read the series:

1. You'll love Harry from the beginning

Harry Potter is introduced first as a little baby dropped off at his aunt and uncle's house. From that point you instantly love Harry. He did not have the best childhood, hey he didn't even know magic existed, but that didn't stop him from becoming a great wizard.

2. It's not just magic and spells

The Harry Potter series teaches us about the wizarding world yes, but it also teaches us valuable life lessons about friendship, the fight between good and evil, bravery, and evil.


3. It's not centered about a romance

Unlike many other series (cough Twilight), Harry Potter is not based on a romantic relationship. Yes, there are relationships within the story but it's not the main focus. It's based on friendship, which is a refreshing change from all the romance based series out there.

4. Your imagination can run wild

J.K. Rowling created a whole wizarding world for us to learn about. When you read the books you truly feel as if you're a part of it. You'll feel like you got sorted into Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin or Ravenclaw and you'll think you're in a potions class or defense against the dark arts class.


5. Shows you the value of friendship

No matter what Harry, Ron, and Hermione remained friends through thick and thin. It teaches us that no matter if it studying for exams or defeating a dark wizard, your friends can make it and survive through anything.

6. Introduces you to Hogwarts

Hogwarts is the school that the the witches and wizards attend to further their magical abilities. For me, learning about Hogwarts was one of the best things about the books. Ever since I read the books, I've been hoping I'd receive my letter, but unfortunately that did not come. However, re-reading the books can make me feel like I'm practically there.


7. The storyline

The Harry Potter storyline is amazing. It's full of twists and turns and unpredictability. You will never get bored while reading it. It keeps you thinking and guessing. When you think you have it figured out, BOOM! you find something out that adds a whole other layer to the story that will make you not want to put the books down!
