7 Reasons Why I Am Thankful For My "Boy-Friends"

It's very rare to find a group of guys who you can count on for almost anything, and when you do, it's a blessing.

Of course, you have your go-to girls who you can spill all your drama to and have late night conversations about the cute boy from math class with but there is something a little extra special about having "boy-friends."

This group of guys are your go-to people whenever you need an effortless laugh, a shoulder to cry on or some unexpected advice. We females sometimes give boys a bad name, but once you find the ones who you can rely on as your best friends, you begin to see how lost we would be without them. They make the tough times easier, the heartaches hurt less and make the laughter grow stronger.

Thank you, boys, for always being there — I would be lost without you.

1. They're never on a diet and are always down for food.

The word "diet," isn't in their vocabulary. So if you're feeling those fries at 2:00 a.m., guarantee they are too.

2. They'll always be there to protect you.

It doesn't matter if he's Ryan Gosling or Channing Tatum, they'll never think he's good enough for you.

3. They always know the perfect time to make you laugh.

Considering they never take anything seriously anyway (unless when needed of course), they can effortlessly bring a permanent smile to your face no matter the situation.

4. Nothing is ever awkward.

They're boys, they never over think it. So go ahead, burp as loud as you want, they'll probably just try and compete with you anyways.

5. They're there when "he" isn't.

Of course, other guys are going to come and go from your life and possibly break your heart, but you always know you'll have your best guys by your side through it all.

6. They give the best advice without knowing it.

Sometimes you just need to see the male perspective to realize you've been over reacting the whole time.

7. You'll probably end up marrying one of them.

Let's be honest, they're still boys and will probably try to grab your heart in a more romantic way from time to time, and maybe you'll find yourself falling for one of them too. So go for it! What's better than ending up with your best friend?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
