7 Reasons Why We All Need A Weird Friend
Abbie Altimirano

We all need a weird friend in our life. Weird friends provide so many great qualities in a relationship and make life a little bit more fun. Whether you are considered the "weird friend" or you for sure have one these kinds of friends, here are some of the reasons why everyone should find themselves their own weird friend.

1. It is never boring time:

Whether they are dancing around the room in a crazy outfit or telling a strange joke that makes everyone uncomfortable, you know you will always be entertained by them. Weird people have so many quirks and hidden talents up their sleeve. There are always so many new things to learn about them.

2. They are a great mood booster or pick me up:

Whenever you are down or not in your best mood, your weird friend is always there to cheer you up. They can always make you laugh or bring a smile to your face whenever you need it. They are the people you can count on for a perfect venting sesh or way to get everything off your mind.

3. You can always count on them to kick in their weirdness so other people wont bother you:

There is always that unwanted visitor, and whether it be the annoying girl from class or the creepy guy at the party, your weird friend is always there to help out the Squad by keeping them away. They are great at knowing how to make conversations uncomfortable and having the weirdest faces/body movements to keep the unwanted visitors away.

4. They inspire you to be different rather than going with the flow:

A weird friend is a great inspiration in your life. They teach you that it is OK to not always do whatever everyone else is doing, and that being yourself is what really matters. They are fully themselves, and it makes you feel like you can be completely yourself too.

5. They always have the best dance moves:

Lets face it, weird friends kill the dance game. They are always making up new moves and having the time of their life while doing them. They don't care who is watching and you can always count on them for a great dancing partner.

6. They are a breathe of fresh air:

Weird friends are unique and not like most friendships. They tell you how it is, are always being themselves without holding back, and go to the beat of their own drum. You can always count on weird person to tell you how it is and give the best advice. Getting help and having a person in your life who is generally not held down my society's standards is the best kind of person to have in your life.

7. You know can always be your weird-self with them too:

Everyone always has a little bit of weird in them. Having a person who is just as weird as you makes everything more fun. You never have to hold back or worry about someone else judging, because as long as they're by your side it doesn't matter.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
