Odyssey has been a huge part of my life since 2015, and I don't regret a single moment I have spent with this company. I am surrounded by the best people in the world on a daily basis, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

1. You decide what you write about.

Odyssey gives you the opportunity to choose what you write about, which is such a rare and awesome opportunity to build the portfolio you want to have!

2. One on one time with professionals

You can book one on one time in a video call with a Content Strategist who works at the headquarters in New York! The Content Strategist will review many things on your call, like headline writing and social sharing that will help you package and produce the best content possible.

3. There are a lot of chances to get involved.

With so many various positions to hold on a team, you can get involved outside of a writer position by becoming a contributing editor or social media director. There are other roles as well that help with community health standards and growth.

4. You make great friendships.

I have met writers and editors from all across the country because of this platform, and some of them have become my closest friends. It's not just a platform, it's a place where communities are formed.

5. Videographers have a home here, too.

Not all platforms allow room for videographers, but Odyssey does! Someone who wants to go into the film or video industry can build a portfolio here as well.

6. No issue is too strong for Odyssey.

Odyssey doesn't just accept pieces about tough issues – it encourages it. Odyssey encourages its writers to write about the stories that the mainstream media is not telling

7. You discover who you are

Most importantly, I have discovered who I am. I have learned so much about myself, and I have learned what I am capable of. There are days where it is hard to keep going, especially when things aren't going as planned with edits. But, I have discovered what I love and why I love it. I have discovered what it means to follow your dreams, and I have learned what it is like to have mentors who push you to be your best.

Odyssey took me from the girl without a voice to the one who is always booming with one.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
