1. You have yet to find a significant other who fully appreciates your awesomeness.
It’s not your fault you are such a cool person. You’ve always been this funny and independent, and potential partners can’t handle your charm. You are young and still trying to find your place in this world, so focus on your own success for a while.
2. You love your friends so much that there’s no room for a partner at this moment.
You pack your days with dinners, movies, hikes, trips, and anything else you love to do with your best pals. There’s not enough room for a whole relationship as your love is already spread out among your favorite people.
3. You are too lazy to put effort into a relationship.
Relationships are emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting. Chances are your new partner will convince you to go on runs to improve your health or whatever and you don’t need that kind of stress in your life.
4. The only person you are interested in right now is Ryan Gosling.
Finding a Valentine won’t be an issue next year when you’ve met Ryan Gosling and he falls in love with you at first sight. Then you will move to New Bern, North Carolina together and live out the rest of your days in a big, beautiful house quoting "The Notebook" to each other.
5. The minimum wage isn’t high enough yet to afford Valentine’s Day gifts.
Until you start getting paid more there’s no way you will buy chocolates for other people. If you are buying chocolates for someone, they are almost definitely for yourself. Want to get that special someone a Rollex watch or diamond earrings? Maybe next year pal. But that's assuming by this time next year you will be a millionaire, which could happen if Shark Tank invests in your idea for adult nap centers.
6. It’s too hard to compete with couples like John Krasinski and Emily Blunt or Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka.
They have already achieved perfection so what’s the point in trying to compete?
7. You enjoy having an excuse to stay in, drink wine, and watch a whole season of “The Mindy Project.”
You have no commitment to another person, so this is a perfect opportunity to do what you wish you could do every night. No relationship, no problem.
Stop worrying about whether or not you have someone to spend Valentine's Day with. You are a perfect human who will find love when you are good and ready. Once you find love, you will realize that Valentine's Day is a pointless holiday where you just have to spend money on another gift even though Christmas was a month and a half ago.
