1. You have to try on everything
Unless it's summer, taking off all your layers is the worst part. If you buy it without trying it on, when you get home you realize it doesn't fit. But if you try it on before you buy it, it still doesn't fit and you have to try on another size and then another size and another one. Then you have to put all your layers back on. It's like cardio and no one likes cardio.
2. You can't find what you're looking for
Face it, no matter how many stores you go to you won't find the outfit you saw on Pinterest. Pinterest isn't reality.
3. You're a different size at every store
Once you find the perfect outfit, the sizing really knows how to screw you over. H&M does that whole European sizing and then you go to an American store and you're either smaller or bigger than you originally thought. Why can't we get a consistency going on?
4. Going with a friend is like a quick visit to Hell
Shopping with friends is never fun. There is always that one friend who swears she doesn't like or need anything from the store and just as you're about to leave the store she finds something she likes and you have to do the whole process over again.
5. There is always a line
Fitting room line or register line, there is always a line. The worst part is, while you're waiting, you will always see triple a number of employees walking around when only two are at the register and it's like an explosion inside your head.
6. Nothing is cheap
You walk into the store wanting a simple sweater and jeans and you find out the total is $60, but you buy it anyway. Do you know how many beers you can get with that plus a cheeseburger? Let's start making smarter decisions people.
7. You leave with an empty wallet
Congratulations, you've managed to spend the money you never really had.
