I know what your first thought was when you read the headline of this article: "but aren't they in a massive debt?" or "but don't they have that Zika virus?" However, don't be fooled, this caribbean island has a lot to offer. Starting from its rich history and culture and ending with its gorgeous landscapes. I have 10 reasons why you should put some mosquito repellent on, hop in a plane, or a boat, and come straight to this beautiful caribbean island, regardless of its problems.
1. We have the the only tropical rainsforest in the U.S.
We like to call in El Yunque. In El Yunque you will find numerous waterfalls, hiking trails and a beautiful sights. Plus many different types of trees, flowers and animals!
2. A rainforest wasn't enough, so we got ourselves a dry forest.
The Guanica Dry Forest is one of the biggest dry forests in the the world! It barely ever rains so the temperature there tends to be a 100 degrees or higher. It has the largest hiking tropical tract so if you really, really want to break a sweat, this dry forest is the place to be.

4. El Morro
Here is the thing: If you visit Puerto Rico and don't go to El Morro, then you didn't really come to Puerto Rico. This old fort has most of our history in it.
5. We have the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world!
We literally have water that glows in the dark thanks to special organisms living in the water. Like, could your water ever? In this Island the moon serves as a strobe light, because why not?
6. Puerto Rican Coffee!
Are you a coffee lover? This Caribbean island used to be among the world's largest, proudest coffee exporters back in the 19th century. Not a lot of our coffee is exported now meaning that the best coffee beans stay within the island.
7. Our Beaches.
We have some of the prettiest beaches in the world. Like a good Caribbean island we have copious amounts of turquoise water and green palm trees.
Our economy may be collapsing, and the Zika virus may be taking over the island but our beauty is undeniable. Puerto Rico is rich in culture and history, so we have a lot to offer. Don't miss out on such beauty, come and visit!
