With the release of Apple's "new" iPhone 7 this week came much hate. The only question is: Why has the iPhone 7 failed to meet expectations?
1) Removed the headphone jack
One of the controversial changes to the new iPhone was the removal of the headphone jack. Although Apple has alternatives to the use of headphones, many say methods such as using lightning headphones inhibit the ability to charge and the new wireless headphones can easily be lost.
2) Removal of certain sizes
Now the smallest storage capacity for an iPhone is 32 GB even though the 16 GB one is enough storage for some. And if someone wishes to purchase the Jet Black iPhone, they are forced to purchase a 128 GB or 256 GB model.
3) Better battery but still lacking
Although compared to previous models the iPhone 7 has a better battery life, it is still unimpressive and dies much quicker than many other competitor phones.
4) Same base design
Many have critiqued the similarity between the brand new iPhone and the previous models. Not much has changed and will probably not change for a while.
5) Better camera
The new iPhone may have a better camera but did anyone want one? Previous iPhone cameras were already spectacular and an upgraded one just takes up time that could've been used for other features.
6) Being waterproof
Okay, I'll admit that being waterproof is a nice feature, but it should be listed for protecting the phone, not a feature. This only makes people think they can submerge their phone underwater without a care in the world.
7) Better processor
Why would Apple waste even more time on using a new processor? I still have an iPhone 5 that hasn't lost any performance and works like a charm.
All in all the iPhone 7 is a big disappointment that brings little "new" features to the table, but being an iPhone, it will still be sold in millions and Apple won't care at all.
