6 Reasons Growing up With All Sisters was the Best AND Worst

You are either going to totally relate to this, or not know a thing about what I'm saying.

6 Reasons Growing up With All Sisters was the Best AND Worst

Three girls. That's what my parents ended up with, those poor people. Everyone knows that girls are high maintenance and 10x more work then boys, so they had it pretty bad. Dealing with drama, boy issues, and just our emotions would be enough to drive anyone crazy. But, on the other hand I think they were luckier then most to be able to call three amazing girls their own.

1. Best: Having multiple closets to pick from when having a fashion crisis.

As everyone knows girls are always very concerned with their outfit choice, especially in a house with little male presence. With all girls in a house you can expect to have at least something to wear when you need it, and if worst comes to worst, borrow from your mom because she's pretty hip and cool from having all girls.

2. Worst: Being forced to wear hand-me-downs.

Your mom still thinks that they're presentable in society, even though it looks like something from a decade ago. No mom, they aren't cute, and they never will be.

3. Best: Being able to relate to each other's problems because your all girls and are very emotional beings.

Nothing beats being able to go to your older sister for advice when you don't know where else to turn. She's been through it all and more, and she's your sister so she's obligated to listen to you whine.

4. Worst: Being the one sister that looks like no one in the family, so no one even knows that you're the other sister.

I'm the middle child that is basically an alien. The only left handed one in the family, the only blonde one, the only one who likes writing better then math and science, and the only one who is a total diva. Can you see why I'm the alien child yet?

5. Best: Always having a friend when your actual friends aren't around.

I don't know how many family trips we took that it was like I was with my best friends rather than my sisters. We could make fun of just about everything, and we all have different personalities that compliment each other. Or when our parents wouldn't let us do anything with our friends, we had to make do with what we had available at our house, each other.

6. Worst: Fights are petty rather than violent.

If you've seen an actual girl fight, you know there's nothing physical about it, it's all in the words that you say. They're always about the most pointless things, but we had at least five a day in our house between the three of us. Screaming gets taken up to a whole new level, but at least no bones are ever broken right?

"Sisters are like angels they sparkle, twinkle, and glow; they are the greatest gift our hearts will ever know."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
