Each year, so many dogs are dropped off at the pound with no place to call home any more, here are some reasons to adopt from shelters and humane societies instead of shopping at pet stores! An adopted pet can provide so much love!
1. You Will Save A Life.
When you adopt a pet from an animal shelter you not only gain a sweet, furry companion, but you get the opportunity to save a life. Over 2.7 million adoptable
animals are euthanized each year in America. Tons of people drop their dogs off at shelters everyday for unknown reasons and tons of dogs are found and taken to shelters and pounds.
2. You'll Get An Amazing Animal.
Pets that come from the shelter are more than ecstatic to be going to a good home and are often house trained already. Adopting our
dog, Buster from the pound was one of the most rewarding experiences ever and he is the best dog we have ever had.
3. You Can Feel Good About Your Decision.
Not only are you saving money by adopting, you're saving a life, and actually improving your health. Animals are proven to make you
happy because of how loving they are and taking
care of them provides a sense of importance. Plus, who doesn't want a cute fur-ball greeting them at the door every day after school/work!
4. You're Fighting Puppy Mills.
When you buy a puppy from a pet store you're supporting disgusting Puppy mills that keep the dogs in awful conditions until they are ready to be transported to a pet store and sold. Often times those puppies that were once so cute and cuddly end up at the pound anyways because people were unable to take care of them.
5. You Find Unique Animals To Fit Your Unique Personality.
At the shelter, there is a multitude of "different" animals whether it be a short, stubby dog like mine or a grumpy cat there are all types of animals to be adopted. At the shelter, you can take any animal into a room and play with it to see if it's the right choice for you and your
family.
6. Old Animals Need Love Too.
An older dog is an awesome option because you don't have to worry about overcoming the "puppy" stage of wrecking your entire house. Old dogs need a loving home to enjoy the rest of their lives, too!
7. Your Life Will Be Forever Changed.
Not only are you changing the life of a sweet animal you're life will certainly be changed by the unconditional love you will receive.
