7 Problems Every Bookworm Has

2. The moment when your favorite character dies

We all have that friend that loves loves loves to read. Most of the time we think that its adorable and that they are the cutest nerds, other times we kind of find it annoying because they will pay more attention to their book than you. Well not everything is about you, we bookworms love our books and won't ever change. Not only do we have the problem of choosing the next book to read but we have other problems too!

1. Choosing the next book to read.

I know that I have an entire bookshelf full of books that I haven't gotten to, but I'm going to go to the bookstore to buy more books to add to that stack of unread books, then I pick up a book that was already on my bookshelf. (Come on, admit it, you do the same thing) Imagine your staring at a fridge stocked full with all of your favorite food. Can't chose right? Well that is a bookworm's everyday life. Staring at a bookshelf full of adventure, romance, and different worlds that we get lost in every single time we read a new book. Normal people just get lost in a pizza.

2. The moment when your favorite character dies.

"Well, that was disappointing" said a very calm reader, they finish the book and move on. "WHAT THE HECK, THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO DIE" said every single bookworm when their favorite character dies. Then they go on to throw the book across the room and ponder life for a few hours then they go onto the next book so they can do the same thing all over again. We voluntarily do that every single time.

3. Never having enough money to buy the next book in the series.

Books can get expensive man! Its crazy! You go to the bookstore telling yourself that you are only going to buy the next book, and get them one at a time. Well that is just a straight up lie. You go and find the next book, then you pick up another one to read the summary, and you think to yourself that I should totally get this, and head to the check out desk. Then those stupid tables in the isle full of books grab your attention, and by then instead of the quick 10 minute trip to the bookstore, its closing time and you've been there all day long. Oops.

4. Reading instead of sleeping.

The whole "I'll go to bed after this chapter" doesn't exist. Something exciting always happens at the end of the chapter, even if it isn't really exciting you still find another reason to read the next chapter. Or my personal favorite is "I only have 5 chapters left, I can totally read this before I go to bed." You finish the book and you look at the clock and realize that its 4am and you have an 8am class the next day. Well I only have four hours to sleep, wait who needs sleep? I'll just start another book.

5. People thinking that you are anti-social.

Bookworms tend to like to read more than interacting with actual human beings. Well at least I do, most of the time. Instead of going out on a Friday night, you would much rather curl up in the corner of the couch or curl up in bed under your favorite blanket with a cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate and read a book, by yourself. Some people tend to think that's being anti-social. I think that's completely normal, but I'm a big bookworm so my opinion is biased.

6. When people ask you your favorite book, you can't choose one.

Literally every time that I have a conversation about books, the question of my favorite book comes up. I usually just stare at them like they are crazy. I can't just have one, I have read so many books. Like they have to pick a genre or a series. Nope, they ask me what my all-time favorite books is and I just can't pick. Its impossible!

7. Running out of room on your bookshelf.

I'm super OCD about how my books are on my shelf. Series all go together, books that I had to have in high school go together, authors go together etc. When you are acquiring enough books that your bookshelf if overflowing and you can't organize it the way that you want to. You have to stack books sideways and on top of other books and just looking at it gives you the chills, and not the good kind. Do you think that having two bookshelves in your room is tacky? I hope not, cause I need another one.

If we have so many problems, why keep reading? We keep reading because when we have our noses stuck in a book, we get to escape into a world of love and adventure and fantasies. We get to escape a world of hatred and war and reality, and just for a little while we get to see happy endings and we get to see the good guys win for once. We fall in love with fictional characters and we envision ourselves in another world being what we want to be. So keep reading bookworms, we need you in this big bad world.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
