Don't you just love it when writers start on relevant topics or characters and then abandon them? I do! Who doesn't? In all seriousness, however, if you don't have a plan for a character, then don't start their storyline because fandoms, including me, hate that. Here are a few characters from multiple shows that deserve more screen time and an actual storyline.
1. Sadie
New Girl's Sadie... I don't think they even gave her a last name. Anyways, she's a lesbian gynecologist who dated a woman who looked like a man. She also has a child from a surrogate mother and a handsy wife. But in the season six finale, it was revealed that she was getting a divorce. What happened with her marriage? What happened to the kid? These are things that we may never know.
2. Winston Bishop
Winston Bishop is another New Girl member. He's really only there for the other characters. He's thrown into unsuccessful relationships and then he makes a couple sarcastic remarks. But in the season finale, he decides to contact his long-lost father. I mean why couldn't he have thought to do that in the five other seasons, not seven minutes before the season, and possibly, series finale.
3. Phoebe Buffay
Phoebe Buffay is an odd character; even her friends mention it throughout the series. Her biological mother gave her up, her father abandoned her family, her mother killed herself, and then her best friend killed herself. She lived on the streets, and a pimp spat in her mouth. Why not elaborate more on this storyline? I'm sorry but your masseuse problems are a little dull.
4. Mike Chang
I'm not sure if Mike had any lines during the first two seasons. And when he did it involved his relationship with Tina. His main storyline line was getting his parents to support his dancing career. But that only lasted for not more than ten minutes. He didn't even end up in a relationship with someone. Who was his soulmate? Did he have more to say?
5. Kol Mikaelson
This poor guy can never catch a break. He has literally been to hell, as in, he is always being staked. He was killed on The Vampire Diaries, brought back to life, transferred to a witch body and killed again. His only storyline involved losing the love of his life, but everybody loves this face. Is he ever going to get his happy ending? Does Davina, the love of his life, ever come back to life? Does love exist? That's extreme, but I'm serious.
6. Jasmine
OK so Jasmine was basically a mom. Her storyline basically ended in season one. She introduced Crosby to his long-lost son, they had relationship problems, she got married to him, and had another kid. Other than that she just was bossy and stubborn and made Crosby give up things, like his car. No character development, no interesting storyline. Nothing.
7. Beth Corcoran
You know when a main character gives birth to a baby it's kind of a big deal. When that baby is given up for adoption and then tried to get back, unsuccessfully, by said main character, it's a big deal. So when the writers don't talk about the unsuccessful attempt ever again I'm pretty sure we're all left a little confused. Did Beth ever establish a relationship with Puck and Quinn? Did Quinn make up with Shelby? Did she ever meet Rachel?
