The 7 Best Nap Spots on Rhodes College Campus

1. The back couch in the Midground

You walk in the mid-ground, go straight till you see the brown couch, take a left, and you see another brown couch. Sweet nap bliss. This spot is perfect because it's semi-closed off from the rest of the havoc. Plus, the smell of coffee is uber soothing. It's pretty cold in the Midground. Remember to take a blanket and a sweater!

Best Nap Times: 9 a.m., 7 p.m., 3 a.m.

2. The couches above the stairs in the library

Anywhere in Barret will give you optimal nap status considering the hush zone. This spot is for the nappers who need total silence. These couches are huge so there is plenty of wiggle room.

Best Nap Times: Anytime the couches are free

3. The bench behind Barret Library

Here's a spot for my fresh air lovers. Optimal napping space because it is perfectly shaded by Barret Library. Generally quiet except for noise of those leaving the lair.

Best Nap Times: 3 p.m.

4. The couch in the lynx lair

This spot is one that only works when the lair is closed but for all intensive purposes, those couches are super comfortable. T.V. is also a plus if you like the light buzz of news while you sleep.

Best Nap Times: 8 p.m. to 10:45 a.m.

5. East village common room couch

East Village is nice af in general so why not take nice af nap while you're in there. It's spacious. It's beautiful. It's soothing. And a huge plus, it's generally not crowded.

Best Nap Times: 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.

6. West village common room couch

West village is even nicer than east village, but you have to deal with frats if you're taking a nap on the weekend. But, during the week it's smooth sailing. Take a load off on the couches.

Best Nap Times: Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

7. Your own bed

Here's a spot we all love on campus. Ah yes the dorm bed. They may be small and they may be a bit squeaky but after a long day of classes, there's nothing quite like crashing in your own bed.

Best Nap Times: Anytime You Like

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
