August Rush
August Rush is a beautiful movie that will really hit home for the people out there who love music. This movie taught me how to listen. It is the story of a young boy who basically follows the music that he hears to find his parents. His mom, a phenomenal cello player, and his dad, a singer in a rock band, also use their skills to find their young son. This is a beautiful movie with an amazing story line that I would recommend to any person who uses music to free themselves.
War Room
War Room is a Christian movie that really changed the way I looked at my life. It's an amazing story about a young couple that are have marital problems. The wife meets an elder lady who shows her the secret closet where she keeps certain things hidden. In this closet, the women has biblical scriptures, pictures, and letters that she has written as prayers. After watching this film, I created a war room of my own, and whenever I'm having a tough day I go in there and try to relax for a couple minutes.
The Help
This magnificent film is a true replica of what life was like during 1960s. After reading the book and watching the film, I have decided that this is one of the few films that seems to follow the book pretty well. There is never a dull moment, and there is always some type of comic relief that counterbalances the dramatic scenes. If you are one for historical movies filled with a little comedy and heart, this movie is definitely for you.
Wild
Reese Witherspoon has the perfect personality for this role. It is possibly one of my favorite movies that has ever been made. Witherspoon's character, Cheryl, decides to hike one of the nations hardest trails by herself. Her determination and femininity makes her shine and become a nature hero. Cheryl learns how to love herself again and after watching this film, you probably will too.
Joy
Joy is a perfect movie if you consider yourself a feminist and love women power. Jennifer Lawrence plays Joy and her character is very determined, intelligent, and very persuasive. After selling her inventions on national television, Joy's career takes off and her inventions become the basis of home products everywhere.
The Sound of Music
As a music lover, The Sound of Music is a beautiful and graceful film that has been capturing the hearts of all audience for quite some time now. Julie Andrews makes this movie with her witty and charmful character. I would watch this movie over and over again for days and would recommend it to anyone, not just people who are interested in musicals or historical films.
Mama Mia
This musical packed film taught me a lot about how to get along with other people. It also showed me how much mothers actually do know about their daughters. The bond between mother and daughter is a gift that should be cherished and this film shows a lot of good examples as to why. The young girl and mother in this film have a relationship that is unbeatable.
