7 Miranda Lambert Songs We Can All Relate To
Taste of Country

Let's be real; every girl has, at some time in their life, heard a Miranda Lambert song and thought "OMG, same!". Whether you're feeling angry, sad, happy, or just plain crazy, her music can speak to what you're going through. You may not have heard of some of these songs, but you should definitely check them out. Get ready to get in touch with your inner Miranda with these seven Miranda Lambert songs that are *totes* relatable.

1. "Guilty in Here" (2007)

We can all admit that we sometimes find ourselves in sticky situations. Out at a restaurant with Guy Number One, and in walks Guy Number Two? Yeah. Listen to this after an awkward run in, after sending the right text to the wrong person, or finally being called out on your two-timing. But no worries, Miranda doesn't judge.

2. "Mama, I'm Alright" (2005)

"My step is sure and I know my name, I'm strong just like you prayed I'd be". Stepping out into the world on your own can be scary. Leaving your family behind to become your own person is something we all have to face. In "Mama, I'm Alright", Miranda sings about independence and perseverance. Just because you leave your family doesn't mean you leave them behind.

3. "Kerosene" (2005)

We all knew this one was coming. No one likes a cheater, especially not a bad-ass woman like Miranda Lambert. Have you been done wrong by your man? Did he leave you for someone else? Can you just not seem to get the whole "love" thing right? That's okay. Put in your headphones, turn on this song, and rage like you've never raged before. You have our permission.

4. "Only Prettier" (2009)

Some of us aren't your "typical girl", and this song perfectly describes our feelings towards society's view of what the "typical girl" is, especially in the South. Maybe we don't have the cleanest vocabulary, and maybe we don't all look the same, but we're all still women, and we can all get along just fine.

5. "Mama's Broken Heart" (2011)

"Hide your crazy!" Well maybe we don't want to hide our crazy! Maybe we want to flaunt our crazy and embrace our crazy! We all go a little crazy sometimes, and we've been taught to make sure we're the only one that knows it. Miranda encourages us to let loose and let it out, whether it's a bad break-up, a bad day at work, or just a super stressful week. This ain't your mama's broken heart!

6. "Me and Charlie Talking" (2005)

^^^ See that smile? We've all had that smile. That smile comes with fresh, new love. A crush, if you will. Growing up, we all had our own "Charlie" that we just knew we'd end up marrying. Of course, it probably didn't work out, and you're probably wondering where that guy ever ended up. This sweet song from her first album will give you a whopping sense of nostalgia, thinking about what's-his-name from elementary school, your "first great love".

7. "Ugly Lights" (2016)

Have you ever been "that girl"? You know the one: bugging the bartender for another drink, even though you can't form a coherent sentence? Having to be dragged out of the bar at last call? Have you had to make the drive back to the parking lot the next day to get your car, the one you left there because you were too wasted to drive home? Yeah. We've all been there, alone underneath the harsh, ugly lights at 3 a.m. We know the drill. And so does Miranda. Try listening to this before you go out, so maybe you can avoid it this time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
