Valentine's day is fast approaching, and you know what that means! Time to find some horror movies that you and your sweetie can snuggle up and watch. Here are 7 of the best underrated horror movies currently streaming on Hulu (and I have personally watched all of these).
1. The Bay (2012)
**This is a found footage film, so if that's not your thing there are plenty more on the list for you to choose from.**
The Bay is set up as leaked confidential footage from the U.S. government. It centers around a town as it delves into chaos after a mysterious outbreak begins to devour the town. Watch the trailer on YouTube
2. The Fields (2011)
While more suspense than horror, The Fields does one heck of a job at building suspense. It follows a young boy (who is the cutest ever) as he goes to stay at his grandparents' house while his mom and dad deal with some issues. Everything seems idyllic at first, but there is something in the corn field... Watch the trailer on Youtube
3. Devil's Pass (2013)
This film has such a twist that M. Night Shyamalan dreams of catching you this off guard. In this intense thriller, 5 young adventurers retrace the steps of a doomed group of hikers in pursuit of a legendary paranormal mystery.Watch the trailer on Youtube
4. Follow (2016)
This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat as you try to figure out what is about to happen next. When Quinn wakes up with a gun in his hand and his girlfriend dead, his life takes a hellish turn. As paranoia and tension heighten, reality starts to bend and the body count rises.Watch the trailer on Youtube
5. Evangeline (2015)
This is a great movie for anyone who just sits there and thinks, "I cannot wait until you get what's coming to you." A naive college student, Evangeline, is brutalized by a gang of thrill-seeking killers. Left to die in the forest, her corpse is revived by an ancient demon spirit that empowers her with a bloodlust for vengeance.Watch the trailer on Youtube
6. Oujia Experiment (2014)
While I absolutely abhor these kinds of movies (ouija board movies just hit a nerve with me). This was actually pretty decent in terms of plot. Some of the acting is a little on the nose, but it is still worth watching. A group of friends decide to record their Ouija board experiment, but when the spirits turn deadly, the friends find themselves haunted. In the hope that it that might save their lives, the friends rush to destroy the board before it kills them.Watch the trailer on Youtube
7. Boo (2005)
I thought this movie was going to be absolutely horrible. Like, going in I had zero expectations for this movie and I was completely surprised when it turned out to be a pretty good movie. Again, the acting isn't as top notch as some Hollywood blockbuster, but it was still a pretty crazy ride. A handful of college students get trapped in a haunted hospital on Halloween.Watch the trailer on Youtube (Note: the trailer is low quality but the film isn't if you watch it on Hulu but do keep in mind this movie is from 2005)
