Health fads: are they overrated or do they actually work? Every summer, there are new and improved ways of eating. Last year, avocados, smoothie bowls, beets, flax seeds and the vegan diet took the cake for the health fads of 2015. This year, there are some new fads rising that will take over the health-foodie world.
1. Cauliflower
Replace carbs like pasta, potatoes and dough for cauliflower -- you can barely taste the difference! Recipes like cauliflower grilled cheese, pizza, tater tots and rice will decrease the amount of carbs than the normal, calorie filling recipes you're used to.
2. Ezekiel Bread
This bread contains several different types of legumes and grains- the healthiest of almost all breads! All protein, amino acids and everything else normal bread is not able to give you.
3. PB2
85% less fat and calories than normal peanut butter. Throw it in smoothies or oatmeal to get the same peanut buttery taste.
4. Aloha Protein Powder
Chocolatey goodness in just one scoop.
5. Kombucha Juice
Vitamins, energy, enzymes and probiotics all in one sip.
6. Chia Seeds
An easy add-in for anything to make you feel more full and energized -- smoothies, yogurt, puddings and even chicken tenders can taste better with these seeds.
Grab a spiralizer and go to town!
The new health fads for the summer are growing in popularity, but will they push through to be beneficial for everyone?
