We all have those songs that make us feel alive, that awaken something deep within us restoring our joy. If technology and I got along, I would smash all of the following bold lyrics into one song and fearlessly proclaim it over my life. Let these lyrics encourage your soul into dancing once again.
1. Overcome-- Jeremy Camp
"We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, everyone overcome."
2. We Believe-- Newsboys
"And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God, has torn the vail!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, We believe!"
3. Build My Life-- Housefires
"And I will build my life upon your love it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in you alone and I will not be shaken"
4. No Longer Slaves-- Steffany Frizzell Gretzinger (Bethel Church)
We are confident sons and daughters singing out to Our Father.
"You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me
And I could stand and sing
I am a child of God."
5. Give Me A Song-- Will Reagan & United Pursuit
"I lift my hands if my hands fail me
I’ll bend my knees if my knees grow weak
I’ll raise my voice and sing, I’ll sing
I know that You love me"
6. Holy (Wedding Day) -- The City Harmonic
"This is the story of the Son of God
Hanging on the cross for me
And it ends with a bride and groom
And a wedding by a glassy sea"
7. King of My Heart (w/ spontaneous) -- Steffany Gretzinger, Jeremy Riddle, & Christine Rhee
"Let the king of my heart
Be the fire inside my veins
The echo of my days
He is my song"
The whole 17 minutes are worth it if only for background music.
The 7 songs have one thing in common: they declare victory over our circumstances. Jesus never falls off of His throne and He never will. Sometimes we have to remind our souls that they were made for freedom. Music has the ability to reach beyond the barriers of slavery.
Go about today with a new song on your lips, proclaiming victory in Jesus' name.
"For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." 1 John 5:4
