7 Fun Ways To Take Your IG Stories To The Next Level

Let's face it, over time Instagram stories have gone from something casual to a true display of your social media skills! We have all scrolled through Instagram and seen one of those Instagram stories that are truly art and thought to ourselves, "literally how?"

Well, look no further! Here are seven fun tips to take your basic Instagram stories to the next level!

1. Put your text in all caps.

Playing around with capitalized vs. lower case text allows you to have some variety with the limited font options. My personal favorite is using the "strong" font in all caps! It is bold, yet, it puts a twist on a classic font!

2. Utilize multiple fonts.

Using the same font for your stories can be boring! You can easily change it up by using multiple fonts for your story. My personal favorite is using an all caps font with all lower case "neon." When my creativity is lacking it is always my go-to design, it adds some contrast to your story plus it's super cute!

2. Layer your text.

Layering allows you to highlight your text and give it some flare! I recommend putting the darker of the two colors on the bottom. Doing so gives the text more depth plus it helps your text stand out on your image!

4. Use dashes to make your text stand out.

Have you ever seen those lines behind people's text and wondered how they did that? Question no more, it's literally just a "--." Use the "strong" font and type two dashes and bam you have a fun line to put text on!

5. Space out each letter.

This is one of my new personal favorites. The font looks so different, plus viewers think you're iconic. Bonus tip: when typing multiple words add a double space in between each word. This allows viewers to read it normally!

6. Use fun gifs.

When done correctly, gifs can be such a cute addition to your Instagram story! However, a little bit can go a long way though. The gif should highlight the image, not take away from it. Some companies with some cute and trendy gifs are "Gladdest," "Steffi," "Mikyla," and "Muchable." Just type one of these into the gif search and your off to a great start!

7. Add designs by bolding periods.

Pick any font that you can bold, then type a period followed by multiple spaces. Next, expand the rectangle and place it in the corner! Now you have a fun shape to put different text on and you also have some new color on the image!

Combine all these steps and you are truly a pro! Good luck with your next Instagram story!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
