Have you ever been the only girl friend in a group of guys? For as long as I can remember, I have always had guy best friends. My brother is only two years older than me and at one point we went from brother/sister to best friends (whether he will admit it or not!)
Girl friends have come and gone through out my lifetime. As I sit back and think about the friends who have stayed over the years, it was all of my boys. Ever since I was 13 years old whether it was getting in trouble, racing cars, going out or even staying in, it’s my boys who were there consistently.
There are seven main facts to be known when it comes to being the only girl in your friend group:
1. When it comes to dirty jokes, you give them stiff competition. Nothing appears to be off limits when going back and forth in the joke department.
2. People assume you’re dating one of them. This happens more often than not when you get the question “so which one do you belong to?”
3. The only time you wish you hung out with girls is when you need to pick an outfit for the night. Trying to get my guy friends to help me pick out an outfit is not the easiest task.
4. You are their sounding board, mother and fun aunt all rolled into one.
5. You know more swear words and inappropriate language than the average girl.
6. They are super-protective of you. Even your parents think of them as your bodyguards.
7. Burps and farts don't phase you anymore. You're immune to them. (This maybe should have been listed as number one!)
Overall, when it comes to being the only girl in a group of guy friends, you pretty much have brothers for life.
