7 Things That Make Fall The Best Season Ever

Because who doesn't love the crisp smell of autumn upon us?

Besides falling in love this autumn, there are a plethora of things that you should be falling for this spice-filled season. Besides the summer, fall has to be one of my absolute favorite seasons. Yes, I completely mourn the loss of my bikini from August, but I warmly accept the cardigans of fall.

Okay so I know that fall technically started back in September, but there’s just something about October that feels so much more authentically autumn. Maybe it’s that weird smell that takes you back to your elementary bookfair, or maybe it’s the never-ending amount of pumpkin flavored things that emerge this time of year, we may never know, but that doesn’t matter!

1. Pumpkin Flavored E V E R Y T H I N G.

First of all, I don’t know really what to do to defend this one, but all I can say is that if you’re on a budget: Grande Iced Coffee, 2% Milk, and Pumpkin Syrup. $3.55. Tastes the same. You’re welcome.

2. Fall Playlist

So I have been spending most of my free-time (or technically the time I have set aside to procrastinate my midterm studying) watching Youtubers live their lives. It’s intriguing --we all do it. Anyway, one of them brought up how she made a fall playlist, and I thought, wow I should do that too, so maybe this is just my shameless self-promotion, but I’m into it.

My copycat playlist of songs that remind of fall can be found here

3. Cardigans

My roommate and I have had extensive conversations about the cardy. Cardigans look good on everyone. Literally. Roll the sleeve up and you are the epitome of fashion. It’s amazing.

4. Candles

Target has the best candles, and probably the cheapest priced candles. Well, at least near USC anyway. I bought one specifically that smells, according to one of my roommates, an October man. And it does.

5. The Color Palette

The aesthetic of the fall leaves is literally complementary for every skin tone. Every eye color. It’s great. Reds. Oranges. Yellows. Browns. If I’m not looking like a fall leaf, then I’m not going out.

6. The Holidays

Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Candy, and hot food. I don’t know if there is anything better than an excuse to eat. Calories do not count during this time of year. Don’t even worry about it. The body doesn’t know.

7. The Television Season

Do I even need to add an explanation? All of your favorite shows are back this season. All of them. Jane the Virgin. The Walking Dead. Scandal. Shonda is back and better than ever in fact this fall.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
