It's that time of year again. Summer has gone by in the blink of an eye and students must head back to school. As the new school year begins, we all must face the fact that we are overwhelmed with a ton emotions of mentally preparing ourselves to leave summer behind. So keep reading below, you may just see that you can relate to these seven emotional stages as told by Disney GIFs.

1. Denial

You haven't kept track of how fast summer has gone by, so when you finally realize how close school is, you just can't believe it

2. Sad

You become sad at the thought of ending your relaxing summer vacation and having to wake up early.

3. Nervous

The nerves begin to consume you when you realize you have less than a week left and so much to do.

4. Panic

You begin to panic because you haven't done your summer assignments or yet alone prepare your supplies and the first day is so near.

5. Excited

You are excited to finally see your friends and catch up on all your summer adventures on the first day back.

6. Nostalgic

Whether you moved away for college or are just missing being home and homework free, everyone is sure to miss something at one point.

7. Acceptance

Once you realize theres no avoiding it you accept it and are ready to face whatever comes your way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
