It’s finally October, which means it’s that time of the year to dust off the old witch hat and magical broom as Halloween is closely approaching. So what does that mean--apple cider, candy apples, fake vampire teeth, and of course, movies! Getting into the spirit, Disney Channel already kicked off its “Monstober” month-long special playing some DCOM classics and even new releases. So while settling down with your blanket and bowl of popcorn, let’s remember some of our past faves that still have us excited to watch to this day.
1. "Halloweentown"
“Being normal is vastly overrated!”We can’t deny that we all wanted to visit the magical realm that celebrated Halloween all year long. (It even has Halloween in its name!) From the big jack-o-lantern to the spells, all the way to Benny the talking skeleton taxi driver, we get giddy whenever it comes on and have to most likely watch it. And what could be better than "Halloweentown?" Halloweentown 2, 3, and 4, of course.
2. "Under Wraps"
Gilbert had to have been one of the best parts of the movie--that and the mummy's shenanigans. Does anyone else remember the incident with the defibrillators?
3. "Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire"
Adam and Chelsea definitely had to put their knowledge to the test to stop Dimitri, the vampire, from biting their mom. It is safe to say that Mom’s life was definitely at stake (Haha, vampire joke).
4. "Don’t Look Under the Bed"
Okay, so was I the only one who got freaked out the first time I saw it? DCOM movies have definitely changed since then (or maybe it's just the getting older part), but the movie made us remember to never forget our first friends, even if they were imaginary.
5. "Tower of Terror"
Another one that was a bit scary when watching as a kid, but still a classic in every way.
6. "Phantom of the Megaplex"
Having a job at this particular movie theater would have been the coolest thing ever! And did you know that Corinne Boher, who played the mom in Underwraps, also played the mom in this movie, too.
7. "Twitches"
Simple: Twin witches---Twitches. It was so magical that they made a "Twitches Too."
