College can be a stressful time, but I am so glad that I have my roommate to suffer with. Most people won’t room with someone else after freshman year and they will immediately get a private room, however, for the most part I enjoy sharing a room because it gives me someone to bug, laugh with, cry with, and do random runs to target or sonic. My favorite part about sharing a room are the conversation you have at night when the day is over and the room is dark below is a list of seven things my roommate and I talk about at least once a week.
1. That one cute guy that the other does not think is cute
For the most part, 50% of our conversation surround us talking about guys and how they are not cute, at least the ones that my roommate picks!
2. Other roommates
It is a known fact that everyone talks about each other- at least everyone I know does. So it’s nice to have a roommate that you can vent to, because you know it won’t leave your room.
3. We talk about the embarrassing things we said or did
For some reason being in the dark makes it easier to talk about those dark embarrassing moments such as when you thought that chocolate milk came from brown cows for a split second (for the record, this was my roommate, not me.)
4. We get competitive when playing 8 ball
You will hear the phrase, “play me in 8 ball” or “play me back dude” atleast once a night. If you haven’t of in the in-app game of 8Ball exchanged through text messaging, you should look it up, it’s very fun.
5. Our Futures
We often talk about our futures and what we want to do, such as where we want to work, who we’d like to marry, how many kids we want and their names. You know, normal girl stuff.
6. Contemplating if we should skip class or not
If we have had a late night study session, or Netflix marathon the night before our 9 ams, we often ask each other if it is worth it to sleep in for an extra hour and typically the answer is yes.
7. Singing and/or judging each other's latest favorite song
We never judge each other, except for when we are singing weird renditions of songs, or singing really out of tune at 2am because we can’t fall asleep.
