We all know that President Donald Trump likes to keep his “audience” in suspense. His campaign was fairly consistent like that, whether he was refusing to release his tax returns or he was saying that we would “find out” whether or not he would concede if he lost the election. Much like Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series, Trump rules by the scare factor and his unpredictability.
However, Trump is not going away any time soon and there are moments when he pushes back too hard for us to not be suspicious about what he is hiding. Here are seven clues he has given us about the whereabouts of his Horcruxes.
1. Not releasing his tax returns
Trump continues to do and say a lot that makes most people forget about the tax returns that he refuses to release. Not to worry, Trump — no one, not even the “failing New York Times”, will be destroying those documents any time soon, even though it would make you mortal once more.
2. Defending Robert E. Lee’s statue
That “beautiful statue” of the Confederate general? Who would honestly be surprised if Trump is fighting so hard for the statue’s preservation because he made it into a Horcrux? Maybe next time Trump will consider walking into a museum and making a Horcrux out of something that is less likely to offend someone or warrant being removed.
3. Russia
It’s not clear where, but there’s no doubt that Trump has a Horcrux hidden somewhere in Russia. No one in their right mind would go searching for it there.
4. His “Make America Great Again” cap
Much like Lord Voldemort had his pet snake, Nagini, Trump kept that “Make America Great Again” baseball cap close during his campaign season, and on occasion afterwards. Nothing quote like keeping your friends close and your easily disposable Horcruxes closer.
5. His daughter, Ivanka
Professor Dumbledore explained to Harry that Lord Voldemort would choose something that is valuable and has sentimentality to himself, as his Horcrux. I rest my case.
6. Comey tapes
Trump tends to show his hand whenever he tweets because when he logs on, it’s always to talk about something that he feels … strongly about. Anyone else think he seemed quite nervous about any tapes being released?
7. Fake TIME Magazine cover
Following the sentimentality route, it seems fair to assume that Trump would make one of his fake TIME Magazine covers a Horcrux. Even better? You would not know which one he chose.
